It was not a great morning for C.
She had to be up early to take a sedative before I drove her down to the off-hospital, West Broadway Medical Industrial Complex located in Lotusland Central for some oral surgery.
All went well and she is now upstairs snoozing while various and assorted pharmaceuticals wear off.
Me, I booked off work for the occasion and am now down in the Subterranean Homesick Blues Room (i.e. the basement) trying to get caught up.
Truth be told however, especially given what happened last night and all that will soon follow, it was good to be out and about with all the other folks scurrying about getting on with their lives this morning.
As for the aftermath?
I'm avoiding it all for the moment waiting for the sturm, drang and cacophonous clanging of the newscycle to dissipate before the real analysis begins.

Had one look at the returns last night, turned it off, went to the pain cave (basement room with a treadmill and trainer bike amongst other things), picked up a guitar and didn't stop playing until it was time for bed. (my earworm is none other than Guns, Guns, Guns)

Those south of the 49th have now demonstrated to the world how utterly stupid they are by electing a 34 count felon, rapist and Quisling. I do not think that the average American understands how low an opinion they have created by voting for Herr Drumph.
Speculation: I have it heard opined that Trumps stay in office will be short lived as his vise president may invoke the 25th amendment to remove Herr Drumph due to his obvious dementia. Does anyone really need a Alzheimer patient with the nuclear codes?
What is certain is that a new dark age has descended on the excited states as the country slowly reverts back to its18th century roots of racism, lynchings, enslavement, and women being second class.

Thanks for the link for the Joe Jackson concert. I watched all of it, very interesting to see some different arrangements for his older songs.
He’s one of many that I forget about and when I am reminded I immediately go deep on the Utube etc and refresh the memory banks.
As for the recent election in the US and BC and soon Canada it seems to me that overall people are actually Eh wholes and do indeed want these types of governments. BC narrowly missed it, by luck really. Canada looks to be going there with a pp win next time unless something drastic happens. Alberta is already there as are a few other provinces. I don’t know for sure but overall this is who we are at the moment, unfortunately. With drumph down there, a pp in Canada, a possible rustad or similar here in BC at some point and a smith next door and who knows what else, it would be grim times in my opinion.
All you can do is smile, smile ,smile and play your music and your instruments and do things that make you happy and look forward to things getting better.
Oh, and don’t forget to vote. As we saw here in BC every vote Does count.
Joe Jackson is a great musician and composer, especially big band style music and Jazz. If you've never seen the movie; Tucker: The Man And His Dream, you should. He wrote the sound track, and he hits it out of the park. I could almost forgive him for being a pro smoking nincompoop.
As Harvey O's blog has been hacked and there is a concerted movement for the MAGA lobby to claim a big victory, the following gives some good insight on the recent election.
There are 244 million eligible voters in this country. Donald Trump is going to come away with ~75 million votes, just like he did in 2020. That's not a majority of Americans. He didn't grow his base. Whatever he gained in support from Latinos, Black Men, and young men, he lost somewhere else. MAGA is still only ~30% of this country.
We lost because ~11 million people who voted last time either didn't vote this time or left the Presidential field blank. That's the hard numbers of it.
Biden 2020 ~81.5 million => Harris 2024 ~70 million
Trump 2020 ~75 million => Trump 2024 ~75 million
The problem with MAGA is they show up to support the Mango Mussolini every time. Every time, without fail.
Hope for the best prepare for the worst!
