This Day In Clarkland...Which British Columbians Won't Be Able To Ride New Transit Infrastructure?

What is wrong with this picture?

And who won't get to ride, all smiley-faced with either the pols or the non-existent humanoid drivers?

Well...

You already know the answer to that one, right:

All which, according to the Dean at least, is really just a PR 'timing' problem (scroll down).

Because, I guess, our fellow citizens who need a little bit of our collective help most should always have to choose between transit and food.

Unlike, say, folks at the top of the tax bracket who just keep on gettin' theirs, and more.

Right?

As to the answer to the question at the top of the post....Note the number of the car....'404'....As in, 'Error/Deleted Page', which pretty much says it all I reckon....(tip o' the toque to Bob Mackin on the Twittmachine for that tidbit)

  1. Looks more like something out of the wax museum and yet another cheap photo op. No mention of the mean-spirited approach to the disabled, just more of how this narrcassist remains at the centre of attention.

  2. Do you feel better now? The Feds, The Provs, The Cities are picking up the tab.

Which is, if you haven't figured it out yet, the politicians dipping into our pockets at three different levels of government collecting taxes that we didn't get to vote on .... as Christy promised on anything to do with transit.

All of the city halls' public construction projects around Metro Vancouver is being fueled by higher and higher property taxes. Whatever happened to the promises to keep taxes low?

  5. the federal government ought not to have given a nickel to Christy and her mob until they agreed to provide decent transit for people with disabilities, i.e. free passes and better, house to house service. with an ever increasing seniors population, we need better transit. what we are being forced to pay for with this photo op is just another opportunity for developers to make more money with projects along the routine. Just think all those new high rises along the new corridors and then they can all be sold to foreigners who will not rent them out or live in them.

this will only fuel the ever increasing prices for housing. nice going there Christy. just another way for your developer friends to make more money. we the taxpayers provide the infrastructure, the developers get to build more stuff, and we who pay the taxes need to move even further out. next stop: alberta. its looking better and better all the time. has better schools and health care. it may snow, but at least they aren't being "snowed" by a photo op queen who won't ban pill presses.

  6. When BC Transit first began levying property taxes, it was applied only to commercial and industrial lands. The politicians of the day stated only those properties would be paying the levy because more citizens would be using public transit thereby allowing a less inhibited flow of commercial traffic. We know that concept was short lived and of course it was ignored by MSM. The Province continues to call the shots with its deliberately hindered administrative structure. It has allowed the Campbell/Clark regime to blame Translink for all its sins even though the Province of BC was the architect of those maladies.
