The Season For Training And Camping Is Now Officially Over.

Given that this year's edition of the Canuckleheads appear, at least for the moment, to be playing like a brand new expansion team...

Wasn't that something?

And, despite the fact that he was only 34 at the time, isn't it amazing to realize that O. J. Kurtenbach still looks like he's your Dad in that video.

As for the big Irishman, Pat Quinn....Don't forget that he was at the time little more than a Maple Laff's cast-off who's main claim to fame was knocking Bobby Orr out cold with a vicious 'shelbow' in the 1969 playoffs.

Ahhhh...

The old days.

When the boards were clean and you could take the whole family, and maybe the kid down the street as well, to the game without skipping an entire mortgage payment.

Imagine that!

Imagine any player showing up out of shape these days. Even Bill Good, who didn’t ask why in this video, might think to ask today.

Lew--

Good just might ask said question today.

Unless, of course, the player was flogging reverse mortgages...If that was the case the guy could come to camp looking like three Gump Worsleys and not hear boo from the Goodship.

Ah, the good old days. Not a great fan of hockey, this old prop forward played until I was 57, when a major health issue sidelined me.

Well, pushing 70's, and a heart attack later I have deranged thoughts playing "oldboys" rugby. I will be in "Yellow" shorts and one of the few past 70 still playing.

Stepping onto the pitch, you are 19 all over again, that is, until about 60 seconds later.................................

Anon -Above--

There was a wee bit of talk of old props when they were young at my Dad's place on Thanksgiving weekend!
