Well whaddy'a know.
Keith Fraser of The Province is reporting that the jury has been sent home once again so that the lawyers can keep twirling their lariats while they play the new sensation that's sweeping the RailGate nation called 'Legal Wrangling'.
Heckfire!
June 17th, the last day testimony under oath was heard, was so long ago that we've almost forgotten what it was that defense lawyer Michael Bolton asked Gordon Campbell's chief-of-staff Martyn Brown about that caused prosector Bill Berardino to jump up and shout 'objection' such that judge MacKenzie responded by taking away everybody's spurs for the duration.
Hmmmmm......
Just what was it that Bolton asked Brown about?
Oh yes here it is.....
Mr. Bolton asked if Mr. Brown was aware of the "relationship" between a certain RCMP inspector named Kevin DeBruyckere, who was a key investigator in the case that led to the charges being laid against the RailGate accused, and the B.C. Liberal party's executive director Kelly Reichert, a fine fellow who works closely with, and presumably talks quite often with, Premier Gordon Campbell and his chief-of-staff on a myriad of matters.....
Now.....
Why would Mr. Bolton bother?
I mean it's not as if such a "relationship" could possibly be important given the subject matter and the personalities and other relationships involved.....
Could it?
(rumour has it that there just might be be a pop-quiz regarding potential possibilities of putative importance later)

Looks to me like the government is on the defensive. Aided by non other than the Oh so special Prosecutor and his objections.
From Monday's Globe and Mail
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/bc-wont-undertake-legal-challenge-of-anti-hst-petition-premier-says/article1620869/
Is this a redundant statement by Patrick Brethour of the Globe and Mail:
"A year from now, people will have been paying the HST for almost 12 months." -
To which Premier Gordon Campbell replied:
"We have to find a way in government that we are paying for the services that people want."
Say what, the government is paying for the services and not the taxpayers
Well, in the name of economy I would be perfectly willing to do without the services of amnesiac Martyn Brown, I can happily dispense with any services by Lara, so her expenses are un-necessary, then there is Kinsella and Dobell, they can get real jobs in the private sector. And Admiral Hahn, now he should do an apprentice-ship under his equivalent, but much lesser paid, fleet admiral in Washington State.
Gordo, Pimm, Cariboo Donna, Slater, Bennett - all their salaries can be terminated soon........A million here, a million there and pretty soon you're talking real savings.......
Setting aside the sophistry of the revenue neutral revenue generator for the moment....
Maybe we should all make a concerted effort to ask Will McMartin to do an analysis of all the cost inflation on ALL of the lobby/consultant/hat monger-driven P3s in the past decade and so that we can tell Mr. Campbell exactly how we are going to pay for services we are going to provide....
_____
Now back once again to the sophistry....I really don't understand why codswallop is not called on Mr. Campbell everytime he pulls that stunt....Because, contrary what he and his, including the Obfuscator King Mr. Hansen, have to say, this really is egregious...Essentially it is a massive tax cut for corporations that is being paid for by the middle class of this province....
