Who The Heck Wants To Play Rockband...

.

....When You Can Actually Play In One.

Which is what I did last night.

Sort of.

I have this young friend, a fellow-science geek at the top of his game, who recently built himself a sound-proof studio in his garage.

And last night we played.

And within 3 minutes (OK, maybe 4 if that's how long it takes to get through a very, very bad cover of this) I was 18 all over again.

****

As for today?

Well, I've landed with a thud back right smack-dab back in the early part of my sixth decade.

And as for my throat.

Well.....

It's about a hundred or so.

OK?

Ross - Me again. I'm 52 years old and earlier this year picked up the guitar again for the first time in 24 years. I've got the Robson guitar and amp kit from Costco and sometimes borrow my daughter's Washburn set to crank out bar, power and drop D chords. I still feel repressed from my days as a teen when my dad yelled at me for playing with my amp too loud so at some point I'll be purchasing a Marshall, cranking it up to 11 and having the 'burb I live in come knocking on the door about noise complaints. But that's OK.

BTW, thanks for the Pomplamousse link. The wife and I attended the Reverend Horton Heat at the Commodore on August 5 and he had two backup bands not heard on commercial radio. The first was Hillstomp from Portland, Oregon:

The other was Wichita, Kansas' Split Lip Rayfield:

I thought Rockband must be lame until I tried it -- great fun.
We all have an inner Paul McCartney screaming to get out.

Hey Cathie,

This may be the first time I've ever seriously disagreed with you....

Ha!

yeah Cathie -- I have more an inner Ringo Starr thing going on.
One of the great pleasures of being back in Ontariariaro at long last was that I am now a mere 45 minutes down the road from all my old jamming pals - whom I went to visit this past weekend. Burgers and hot sausages were grilled, beer was drunk, guitars were strummed and harps wailed on. Now its Tuesday and I'm still looking for a new job and camping out at my parents place, but I'm still grinning.

Rev....

We want documentary evidence....Audio will suffice - but visuals would be a bonus!
