The Revenge Of The Yutes!

It turns out that it's not just the olds hooked on Rupert Murdoch's propaganda channel, or worse, who are the entire problem.

And/or suburban soccer moms.

What it's all about this time, Alfie?

I mean, just look at those shifts.

And while young men shifted 28 points to Trump since 2020, young women moved 14 points that way as well.

It's got me wondering if, perhaps, this has less to do with Mr. Rogan's podcast and more to do with the Covid generation getting its revenge on the world.

  2. boggles this aging baby boomer's mind why they shifted but there is no accounting for taste.
Some are alleging "its the economy stupid". However a lack of health care and women dying because of a lack of choice to have an abortion or to receive adequate care following a miscarriage, is a far greater issue. Economies can change, but once you are dead, you are dead and it doesn't matter what the economy is like. For men, do you really want the mother of your child to die because of a lack of health care? That is what happens if there is a miscarriage and infection sets in. Women die. Some of this may stem from voters views on the value of women--dead is fine as long as there was no abortion. For many its a religious issue, but it is doubtful all of the compulsory pregnancy people are religious. It may simply be a power and control issue. People may not have much control over their own lives, but they can exercise control over some one else.
When I was a kid, Jack Wasserman used to write, in his salon column about women who died from back room abortions and he wasn't happy. He saw no need for it and argued the country needed the right to abortions. That was how my opinions on the subject were formed. Moms dying because they couldn't go to the hospital for an operation??>? didn't make sense to me as a kid and here I sit at 75 and it still doesn't make sense.
The other issue which appears to have been a non issue in the election was gun control. You'd think after all the mass shootings and school shootings younger people might have voted for some one who wasn't quite so keen on people walking around with guns and war equipment and using it on children in schools. going out over social media and any number of t.v. mouth people actually believed others were eating cats and dogs in Springfield , is beyond me.
Revenge for COVID??? the problem for the americans was they had Trump as president. Had a more science based president been in office there would most likely have been a lot fewer deaths in the U.S.A.
There is an old saying, "if they will do it with you, they will do it to you". so if you think Trump isn't ever going to train his sights on you and yours, give your head a shake. If its in his best interest he will do what ever he wants to get what he wants and if you die because of it, he won't even notice.
If people were to have a look at history and all the ugly leaders who turned on their supporters or people who disagreed with them you might have a better understand of what Trump can and will do.
Musk may currently be Trump's best bud and had him on a phone conversation which he ought not to have been, but Trump will turn on Musk any time he wants and Musk may find out he is in jail with no money. If trump is talking about putting legal
ly elected officials on trial for "crimes" or journalists who only reported what was happening, Musk and his ilk might want to have an exit strategy.
I recall a friend who worked in China for a time a couple of decades ago telling me there were billionaires who kept their jets on the run way, staffed and engines running in case they had to exit stage left quickly. They never knew when they would "piss off" a senior government official.
If it can happen to a billionaire in china it can happen to a billionaire in the U.S.A. O.K. Eric Prince might be able to get out of sticky situations but he did run Black Water and had his own army.
there was a general who once said, when facism comes to america it will be wrapped in the flag. It has arrive.

  3. Hmmm ..... blame it on covid. I think not.

Blame it on a decaying American educational system and 40 years of Reganomics, and the decline of the middle class, especially in the USA.

The 2nd World War saw a massive expansion of the middle class and the result were the boomers who now had colleges to go too and good jobs.

Fact is the middle class got too powerful and after the Kent State murders where the establishment taught the middle class a thing or two, government saw the decline of the middle class and the decline of general education.

The result: a mindless generation which has killed thousands via video games and now disappeared into the visual world of DC comics. The new lost generation.

Ignorance and myth, abetted by both the right and left wing pod casts; FOX News and the now the corporate media.

Now comes the old hates and prejudices, stirred by malcontents for their rise for their grasp of the "brass ring".

Then along came Trump, a reality show host and pretend billionaire to sing the tune of Make America Great Again, which like sheep the masses followed.

It is all a replay of 1933 and that, ultimately did not turn out well.

It is all what Ronnie Ray-Gun, Moscow Mitch wanted a slow motion coup so that the wealthy could once again be able to dominate the American politic.

It was all going to plan until Trump, now the orange faced pied piper leading the gullible, power has slipped away from the old school American elites.

So Trump the dictator wannabe, with the supreme court in his pocket, will destroy the USA over time, either by civil war or a draconian police state, complete with gulags and the odious apparatus of secret police.

    Welcome to the new order.

  4. Could this be as a result of computer/cellphone culture, and the computer educated?

  5. Thanks Grant--

    EE--

I hear you on all of that and agree with you for millennials and GenX.

But look at the time of that shift...It really got rolling from 2020 to 22.

    eaf and Chuck--

I'm not sure a Wasserman would make the slightest dent with this demo now. Heckfire, I'm quite certain that they are not hearing/paying any heed to Bruce Arthur in the here and now.

All of which, I suppose, makes Chuck's point.

    1. The problem with the Millennials and Gen X's is that they never had to contend with disease. They haven't a clue about Polio, Mumps, chicken pox and measles and a host of other diseases.

Most lack even the basic knowledge of bacterial infection, the spread of and dire results if left untreated.

The M's and Gen's also are the generations that no one said 'No" to and most cannot cope with any sort of negative comment.

Trump pandered to theses people because he lied and its OK, he raped and it was OK, he tried to overthrow the government and it was OK and so on.

They have learned that the rules do not apply to the wealthy only the poor and in the states, they have learned that the gun is the ultimate leveler.

The M's and Gen's have never been taught logic, nor to think 20 minutes into the future and have lost the ability to think and why should they, the new president cannot put a coherent sentence together. Thinking? "What me worry".

My thought is, how long will the military stand for this as they stand for the constitution and not the president.

  6. If you want to know why the yutes gave Trump a trifecta, follow the money. On what issue was GOP advertising focused on the last month of the campaign? Hint: it's an issue that affects yutes the most through changes to Title IX and one where the Dems offered no response. Bottom line, the Dems got the Bud Lite treatment.

  7. Ahhh, point taken Sumi--

You are speaking of this but of business as usual sane washin from The Hill?

...Trump will likely face pressure to stop the loan forgiveness and change the Title IX rules back to what his administration had in his first term, cutting the new additions under President Biden that added protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity...
