Is the Calgary Sun attempting to freep its own poll on Neil Young's tour for the Athabaska Chipewyan First Nation Legal Defense Fund?
Why yes, I believe they are:
...Rocker Neil Young is the latest celebrity to bash the economic engine of the province.
He has claimed the oil is going to China. He has suggested the place looks like Hiroshima.
Young has faced sharp criticism for his comments, but others have backed him.
Two recent reader polls for other media outlets claim a majority of Albertans back him.
What do you say, Sun readers?
Do you agree with Young's attack on the oilsands?
Do you feel his attacks are on base, or are an over-exaggeration of the environmental picture in the Fort McMurray area?...
****
But here's the thing.
As of 8:00am this morning (i.e. the day of the big show in Calgary) it would appear that the fine folks from the CSun are still not quite getting the answer they are looking for:
Of course, the call to the flying surrender monkeys is probably just going out right about now.
Wonder how many times the ol' curmudgeon has banged the lever already?

Actually, at 294 votes at 13:20 PST, it hasn't changed much.
Nice piece Ross. Funny, I think Shakey's handling this campaign very well - I'm a little miffed to see Andrew Weaver up there on the stage with him - given his background as a BCLiberal/Campbell shill but - what the Hell.
Funnily enough, I think our Neil is getting to folks in a direct and effective way that counters very nicely the amped-up hype of all the ad campaigns and clearly agitated pols who're trying to counter his genuine human concern and empathy.
And I think it's about the funniest thing I've ever read to see Max Pointy going ballistic about a little hyperbole: pot calling kettle much?
Cheers.
This is a week that will surely change the lives of many. I don't think I am exaggerating when i say Rex Murphy regrets. CBC.
Mr. Harper, Joe Oliver, Mr Collyer, all have misread the power of the truth as their power diminishes by the minute.
I salute Neil Young, always have, my respect for him knows no bounds.

Thanks all--
No comments on the back-up, garage-band singers?

Viva Neil Young. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is. "We got a job to do/We got to save Mother Earth."

What can be better than not burning out while you are (most definitely) not fading away...?
.
Yes, RossK, this is how you stay relevant. Heroic really.
...As opposed to fueling a pathetic parody of your faded greatness by endlessly touring to compensate for lost record revenues.
