Nevermind The Candidate...

....Who Are The Backers?

From the ink- and pixel dust- stained fingertips of Bob Mackin:

Dianne Watts will throw her hat in the BC Liberal leadership ring on Sunday at 1 p.m.

theBreaker has obtained a copy of an invitation to join Watts for “a special event and announcement” at the Sheraton Guildford Hotel...

The real question, to my mind at least, is who, exactly, will be pushing this candidate from behind the wizards' big curtain?

Personally, I'd be pretty willing to take short odds on those wild 'progressive' boys.

(and don't forget, sometimes they like to back two horses at once).

Oh good lord, Watts. Really? One only has to look at her in Surrey, and the pro corporate, pro liberal/Cons, never mind the actual citizens who foot the bills. Her taj mahal that costs millions and millions, which by the way is one of the ugliest buildings I've seen, and imo, was not needed. The development after development after development, but fails and failed to have infrastructure (as part of the pay off) in place i.e. schools, health facilities, roads etc. Clayton Heights is a disaster area. Crime has increased with shootings happening pretty well every day, or almost. (Hepner is just following Watts in these failures and is all about pro development also.) And then there's Hawthorne Park and the road Hepner wants to push through. Totally unacceptable.
Watts has property which comes under new OCP (revamped every few years) and is about to make her millions. City Hall is only about developers.
Watts, another untrustworthy Con (liberal).

I should think that ideally they want to back all the horses. That way the horse that wins will be guaranteed to be on their side.

Another parasite on the public purse, pretending to be a 'fiscal genius' and a 'businesswoman'. Hah. Any ego inflating publicly funded position she can grab. Has anyone ever cleared up re: that riding accident when she was a teenager?

Don't tell me the BCLibs are hoping to dump another version of "Babes-R-US" on a gullible public??? Haven't we learned anything yet?

Anon-Above--

I wonder if, perhaps, Ms. Clark was actually "DW Minus Zero" back in late 2010/early 2011.

After all, wasn't there a considerable clamour for Ms. Watts to throw her hat in the leadership ring immediately post GordCo?

And didn't Ms. Watts decide to steer clear of the perceived train wreck that was the BCL party at the time?

When I think of the good Ms Watts I'm reminded of an old Melissa Etheridge song, Similar Features- "she's got similar features but longer hair"- in other words Christy Clark on steroids. The rest of the cliquey cabinet flunkies in the race will do nothing but keep the party tied for seats or in the opposition hopefully for a generation to come.

I think an interesting question might be....Would a more out-front conservative like Ms. Watts push a significant numbr of rank-and-file centrists in the big tent BCL out and over to Mr. Weaver?

I would take pretty short odds that Smilin' Sammy is trying to convince some of the money men, right now at this very instant, that the answer to that question is yes.

Diane Watts, omg, C.C. with longer hair but the same plastic surgeon. I'm sure she will do as good a job as Christy and el gordo. Now lets go back to the first column of the day. people ought to remember that. Then they might want to think about Campbell Heights Industrial park in surrey.

Things didn't turn out so well for Watts in Ottawa, just another ass on a bench going no where after harper fail to win. Guess the money men want her back here to see what she can do for them. I'm sure she can read the script and follow directions and keep the casinos on track.
