Rodents...Ship...Sinking.

From Kyle Cheney writing in Politico:

Two of Donald Trump’s top lawyers abruptly resigned from his defense team on Friday, just hours after news broke that he and a close aide were indicted on charges related to their handling of classified documents.

Jim Trusty and John Rowley, who helmed Trump’s Washington, D.C.-based legal team for months and were seen frequently at the federal courthouse, indicated they would no longer represent Trump in matters being investigated and prosecuted by special counsel Jack Smith, who is probing both the documents matter and efforts by Trump to subvert the 2020 election...

And here's a name you will likely hear quite a bit about in the coming days....Aileen Cannon.

I'm not surprised. Defending Trump the way he expects tends to be career limiting. Just ask Michael Cohen, Rudy Giuliani, Lin Wood, Sydney Powell and Erick Kaardal - jailed, disbarred and/or facing sanctions or disciplinary hearings. Probably got stiffed on fees to boot.

Cap--

Ya.

It seems that, in the end, even the most compromised of practitioners come to realize that the word 'law' is embedded within the term lawyer.

Regardless, it appears that the latest cluster of such folks ran scurrying from the ship when the insane clown of a first mate roaming the bridge, Boris Epshteyn, tried to force them all down into the hold with concrete slabs shackled to their ankles.

...Or some such thing.

"In my opinion, he was not very honest with us or the client on certain things,” Parlatore said of Epshteyn. What Parlatore said of Epshteyn likely applies to Trump, the client. A client lying is grounds for the lawyer removing himself from the case. The client's gopher, not so much. But the lawyer has to be careful not to jeopardize the case by telling everyone that if the client said it was raining, he'd look out the window to check. So Epshteyn makes a convenient fall-guy.

The real question is why did Parlatore think he could trust Trump at all? As Trump loves to say at his rallies, "You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in."

those guys playing guitar ain't bad at all. will have to find other things where they're playing.

all tthose charges, its nice to see, but will they convict? Given some of the rehtorid which has been spread around I guess we'll see when trump goes to the court house.
