Ethical...It's Not Just For Oil Anymore.

From a piece by Shera Avi-Yonah in the Washington Post:

A three-star Air Force general said the U.S. military’s approach to artificial intelligence is more ethical than adversaries’ because it is a “Judeo-Christian society”...

{snip}

...Lt. Gen. Richard G. Moore Jr. made the comment at a Hudson Institute event Thursday while answering a question about how the Pentagon views autonomous warfare. The Department of Defense has been discussing AI ethics at its highest levels, said Moore, who is the Air Force’s deputy chief of staff for plans and programs...

Remind me.

While pretty much the entirety of General Moore's Judea-Christian Society have lost their minds smushing Barbie and Oppenheimer together as the world's hottest vacation spots burn while tourists, who keep arriving by jet, flee...

Who was it, again, who dropped the bomb(s) in 1945?

_______
Tip O' The Toque to PZ Myers...who took things in a slightly different direction.

So before I upchuck, one should remind the good general about the 'Judeo-Christian society” is not as ethical as one thinks. It over saw slavery, genocide and much other horrors in history, not to mention the previous mentioning of the the A-Bombs dropped on Japan.

Ethical and military just do not match as the Judeo-Christian military is about as unethical in murdering others in the name of whatever as other religious societies.

How long before, say, the gov't of good 'ol governor Ron outlaws any and all books, film strips, microfiches and/or newsreels that contains any evidence whatsoever about who actually dropped the bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima?

Good 'ol governor Ron is, I believe, one of the most dangerous man in the world.

He is, of the School of Joseph Goebbels (you know the the chap, repeat a lie often enough and the people are bound to believe it) and any politicians who adheres to this doctrine is evil.

I am of the school of belief that if both Nagasaki and Hiroshima bombs were not dropped, they would have been in 1950 in Korea and we must remember too, the USA did stop the third bomb being dropped. Any more conjecture and we enter the dangerous world of "what if".

Governor Ron is rewriting history to suit his politcal ambitions and that smells like plagiarism from Orwell's 1984, hair raising stuff!

Two things to take note, real history is not written until 200 to 300 years after the event and those who rewrite history to support their politcal views are extremely dangerous people.

Governor Ron is a very dangerous person indeed. His obituary is one I would relish to read.

omg, what is that man smoking or drinking. talk about a superior attitude.
some one send him a few history books about wars perpetrated by the morally superior Judeau/Christian tribe. When I think of all the wars fought in Europe since the time of the Charlemagne it isn't a pretty picture. The good Christians of Germany sent a lot of Jews to their deaths. Not much there when it comes to morality and ethics. Two world wars. the fall of the former Yugoslavia--lot of people murdered there. The various wars in England, the murder of Indigenous Peoples by European countries all in the name of the 'church'. That General needs another job. Next he'll be spouting whites are superior. I do remember napalm being tossed around in Vietnam by the U.S.A., so perhaps the General could explain that one to me. And on a more current note, the treatment of refugees in the U.S.A. and Europe by those good old christian types.
Come to think of it, back in the day, some of those religious protestants in the U.S.A. would quote the bible to support slavery. Ah yes, and now we have DeSantos who is doing it all over again.
Give me an atheist any old time. I'd suggest more people have been murdered over relgion than anything else in the world.

Given RDS' comments on the benefits of having been a slave, I'm prone to believe that he will not only NOT expunge the nuclear bombings, but will rather find a line of reasoning (?) that will glorify the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombings as a prefiguring of the US reconstruction of Japan post World War II., y'know knocking down that old stuff and clearing out the rats' nests with the human casualties being mere collateral damage, per Iraq War Speak.

Off Topic RossK, but an Emptywheel contributor has just provided a look-see at property ownership on either side of, and across from ... Mar-a-lago... and guess who it is...
