Remember that race card from Robert 'Send Me All Your Leaks!' Fife that had the two so-called outsiders, Mark Carney and Christy Clark, at the bottom of the odds list?
Well, Evan Scrimshaw has weighed in and he thinks that Ms. Clark has the edge:
...The difference between Carney and, say, Christy Clark - both nominal “outsider” candidates - is that everybody in the party knows Clark can do the basic things of both governing and campaigning well. There is little confidence in Carney, and his Globe op-ed has gone over like a bucket of warm piss - raising more questions about his instincts...

All snark aside, we should probably give Mr. Scrimshaw a wee bit of a break...After all, he is an Ontarian who probably gets a good proportion of his takes on BC politics from the likes of Ron Obvious.

The discredited "pay to play" Christy Clark will utterly destroy the federal Liberal party and is seen by true Liberals as a MAGA'ish Conservative Quisling.
Freeland is the only real candidate simply because Trump is afraid and hates her. Clark would sell out Canada in an instance as she has the same malignant narcissist traits as the Mango Mussolini.
Freeland is the only candidate that could salvage Liberal fortunes by not being entirely wiped out. The "Wee P" lacks experience and his politcal promises we see on the telly add nauseam will never be fulfilled. Like most politcans in Can ada, they do not understand the Carbon Tax; the housing crisis; and the escalating cost of food. The "Wee P's" solutions are childish word salads.
The NDP, the gang that can never shoot straight, are also complicit in this dreadful group think about the many crisis's unfolding from Ukraine and Russia and Trump and his bellicose threats of invasion and his American version of Liebestraum.
The spectre of 1939 hovers over Canada like the vast clouds of black smoke hovering over L.A.!
Christy Clark, forever a "Legend in her own mind" will do to the Federal Liberal party, what her evil twin, Kevin Falcon, did to BC United, formerly the BC Liberal party of Gordon Campbell.
I'd agree with Anon. Christy Clarke, we've seen her act and can't say it was impressive. Didn't do anything about the opiode crisis, child poverty wasn''t addressed, but she managed to charge a $740 breakfast to the public purse while in Asia. It was a mess in B.C. while she was premier. Money laundering, etc. Now she wants to bring that mess to the rest of Canada. If you really wanted to know what christy was saying you turned off the sound. The body language spoke volumes. I'd prefer Frieland or just about any one else. Hell, I'd be o.k. with one of the Quebec Parties before Christy. Trump would love Christy as P.M. It would be about as crass as things could get. Well perhaps Melania could teach her how to dress more appropriately. Christy also reminded me of a trashy type and not much has changed.
Said it before. Christy is not a Liberal . BC Liberals aren’t Liberals.
In my book Maui Wowie Gordon Campbell, invented Trumpism, before Trump. He increased taxes onto the poor and middle classes while giving generous tax breaks to the wealthy and a hell of a lot more.
The "Carbon Tax" was created to off set the loss of revenue by the generous tax breaks to BC;'s wealthy.
Trudeau just copied what Gordo did. In Canada, call it a carbon tax and the people will accept it.
Campbell single handedly destroyed BC's future with the sale of BC Rail, only we haven't recognized that fact as of yet.
Gordo's spawn Falcon (who has already crashed and burned) and Clark are second generation Trumpians, who believe in the ultimate power of being Premier or prime Minister.
All I can say is evil is as evil does.
For me, Canadian politics is like open water swimming. You must use a nose clip and possibly ear plugs too, if you want to go far without getting some kind of weird infection!
Clarke was a member of the BC Government that searched out foreign ( particularly Hong Kong) investors for the Vancouver real estate market.
The result was an explosion in Vancouver home prices and is one of the reasons we have high home prices to this day.
Christy was also on board for the sale of BC Rail which was another real estate grab.
Lets not forget her governments sale of prime forest land on Vancouver Island again to pacify her real estate friends.
Clarke is a political opportunist who is more conservative than liberal.
As candidates drop out from the leadership race she may be a force to contend with but will never have the capabilities of Freeland.

In the constant changes of names of right wing/fascists, to protect the guilty, Liberal was the next name in line seen as palatable to the public.
It's a surprise that the didn't go for the BC party rather than the soccer party, like the fascists in Saskatchewan.
