'The Circus-Circus is what the whole hep world would be doing on Saturday night if the Nazis had won the war. This is the Six Reich. The ground floor is full of gambling tables, like all the other casinos...but the place is about four stories high, in the style of a circus tent, and all manner of strange County-Fair/Polish Carnival madness is going on up in this space. Right above the gambling tables the Forty Flying Carazito Brothers are doing a high-wire trazeze act, along with four muzzled Wolverines and the Six Nymphet Sisters from San Diego.....
This madness goes on and on, but nobody seems to notice. The gambling action runs twenty-four hours a day on the main floor, and the circus never ends......Stand in front of this fantastic machine, my friend, and for just 99 cents your likeness will appear, two hundred feet tall, on a screen above downtown Las Vegas. Ninety-nine cents more for a voice message......
I could see myself lying in bed at the Mint Hotel, half-asleep and staring idly out the window, when suddenly a vicious nazi drunkard appears two hundred feet tall in the midnight sky, screaming gibberish at the world: "Woodstock Uber Alles!"

'Bush is really the evil one here and it is more than just him....
We're the Nazis in this game, and I don't like it. I'm embarrassed and I'm pissed off. Yeah. I mean to say something and I think a lot of people in this country agree with me.'

As the American Empire slowly collapses under the weight of its politcal corruption; fake evangelicalism; inherent racism; and general xenophobia, the movie "V" for Vendetta comes to mind.

Shapes of things to come I am afraid!
Goons with masks.Who wants to go to US?
Anon-Above--
Reminiscent of 'V', indeed.
What I find most concerning is how the corpMedia just keeps playing it as business as usual treating, for example, the yesterday's stories of John Bolton's home being raided by the FBI and the releasing of Ms. Maxwell's fawning comments about Mr. Trump as being on the level and worthy of 'serious' discussion.
Sheesh.
.
Chuck--
On our last trip down in July, the reasons for which I plan to write about, we drove across at Peace Arch...Things were reasonable enough at the booth, although there were a couple of strange questions, one of which was, 'Do you own this car?'. But after you leave the booth and enter US'ian land, you now go through a twisty gauntlet with all kinds of uniformed CBP people standing around staring at you like they might pull you over at any second. That last bit was truly unnerving.

The new "checkpoint Charlie".
Widespread news this morning that Trump is planning to send U.S. troops into Chicago, and the military has been preparing for this eventuality for weeks.
He’s going to keep doing this until he’s stopped. How he might be stopped is an open question. But if he isn’t shut down, and then gets away with moves on New York and Los Angeles, how long will it be before an emboldened Trump sends his troops into Canada looking for the fentanyl supply he keeps saying is flooding across the border and killing Americans?
