The VSun's Jonathan Fowlie is reporting that it was June 27th, 2006.
Why does this matter?
Well, the Edgewater Casino sale was not completed until Sept 2006.
_______
Clearly, the timelines of this thing are starting to intersect and cross-over like a web gone wild.... Will sit down and try to write a tangle-free post soon.....

Don't normally read the VSun - CanWest/Aspers and all that - but happened to notice the front-page story as I was walking the Four-Footed-Child today. Came home to read the article and had to dig WAY into the online edition to find it.
Wouldn't want to get too much negative press out on gordo and company, would we? It was quite surprising to see the print edition featuring it so boldly. Must have been a "newbie" on the editorial staff last night . . . .
Bob--
I hate to be cynical - but I think that the possibility that others were onto the story may have pushed the fine folks at the VSun to do it....
Why do I suggest that?
Well, it is clear that Mr. Turner granted interviews to Justine Hunter of the Globe as well as Mr. Fowlie of the VSun yesterday.....
Which, in and of itself, is significant (and a good thing for we, the peons....errrrr....people).
However, it is clear that Sean Holman was granted an interview also.
And, given the way Sean has banged the VSun's gong repeatedly on this thing for the last week, I would think that would be solid impetus for them to go big as well.
Bottom line - it's amazing what a little competition will do, eh?

You're not being cynical, RossK, just rational.
Thank goodness we've got folks like Sean and yourself to force the MSM to eventually inform the general public. You're kinda like our own local version of
"WikiLeaks" . . . . heh, heh, heh
Sean maybe....Me, I'm just a tip-plated, and slightly wheezing off-kilter wurlitzer....
