More Rumours On #VSB39 Firings From proMedia

Mikey Mike does it again, in The Province:

"...So what’s this schoolyard fight really all about? It comes down to the unsubstantiated allegations of bullying against unnamed trustees.

Senior school-district managers — including the $188,000-a-year superintendent — went on medical leave amid accusations trustees had bullied district staff. It’s possible some of the bullying allegations are detailed in a government-ordered forensic audit of the district that could be released as early as this week.

Bernier has read the audit report. Maybe that explains why he fired the trustees, knowing the report would vindicate him later...

{snip}

...The political stakes, meanwhile, are being raised. NDP Leader John Horgan vowed to rehire the fired trustees if he wins the provincial election and becomes premier in May. If evidence emerges that trustees did indeed bully and harass staff, Horgan may regret the promise..."

Meanwhile...

Where is that Milburn report/audit that Minister Bernier said helped him to rush the firing of the trustees after he read it, in draft form, the weekend before last?

_______
Look Mr. Smyth, if you know something concrete about this matter tell us what it is....Otherwise, just stop the rumour mongering and innuendo...OK?

My condolences Ross K....You suffered through reading another Mike Smyth national inquirer type tripe ...

(Beef tripe is usually made from the muscle wall (the interior mucosal lining is removed) of only the first three chambers of a cow's stomach: the rumen (blanket/flat/smooth tripe), the reticulum (honeycomb and pocket tripe), and the omasum (book/bible/leaf tripe)

Good Day

Just an aside here. John Horgan, in his first term as MLA, was education critic. It was in that capacity that I first met him when I was a VSB trustee (almost a decade ago!). John was certainly attuned to public education issues then and, in my opinion, continues to be aware of them today.

Well...

Based on the header to the good Mr. Smyth's piece I was bamboozled into thinking there might be something informative and fact-based in it.

Clearly, I was mistaken.

More than a little disappointed we haven't seen the proposed balanced budget - that is something the out going trustees do have control of

Point taken Anon-Above.

Actually Anon-Above.. A link was posted on Twitter by one of the Trustees. I forget if it was Bacchus or Lombardi, in response to that question of the balanced budget. So it has been made available in the form they do control - Merv

Thanks Merv--

I'll have a look.

Horgan ought to have kept his mouth shut until more time had transpired. Right now most people have really no idea what is going on. In my opinion the MSM will muddy the waters as is required of them. Smyth, if he had any real information would have published. It would have been a scope. The Tyee reported Patty Bachus's views.

Bullying can take many forms. For an entire group to have resigned, well their might have been something going on. It might have been they were put under so much strain they could deal with it any more.

If the NDP was going to say anything at all, it ought to have been . something along the lines of the education system needs less advertising and more money in the class room. that is something just about any one could have gotten behind. those ads cost a fortune. Getting involved in a political fight we don't have the full story on is not a smart move. If your leg isn't involved is a dog fight, stand back before you get bitten. Better to say nothing, than to put your foot in your mouth.

Had a look on Twitter at #bced, @pattibacchus, @LombardiMike - no luck finding anything on the proposed budget.

There was an image of a recent report from the BC Auditor General though, but I couldn't find the report on the AG's site http://www.bcauditor.com/

A little off topic...

LNG in BC is dead...Here is the latest scab article, research and data taken from my Straight Goods' site..

https://www.biv.com/article/2016/10/no-final-investment-decisions-bc-gas-until-decades/

I wrote the article 2 years ago, and last year, and last month, and last week, in fact the article is still on my front page..

Not on topic.

fyi all: Beware?

Apparently a large comment server is sharing information with seemingly innocuous sites. It will have a chilling effect on me.
I doubt an 'off-beat' 'suggestion' presented to me, was a mere coincidence…Cross-referencing made easy...

So Mikey is okay with the entire board being fired because an unnamed number of unnamed trustees maybe bullied an unnamed number of unnamed senior managers?

I heard an unnamed number of unnamed people say that Mikey is not a real journalist.

The budget which would have passed if the VSB had not been fired is here; https://t.co/EHpBbBv1yG It was in Patti Bacchus' twitter feed.

Cheers
