Forty-Four Characters Too Many.

Mr. Trump when asked what he thinks about the Obama administration's plans to sanction Russia in the wake of the hacking scandal:

"I think we ought to get on with our lives. I think that computers have complicated lives very greatly. The whole age of computer has made it where nobody knows exactly what's going on."

Hmmmmm...

Sounds more like Richie Rich in a dunce cap than a president/twitmachine expert.

Which, of course, is pretty 'bad' with or without exclamation marks.

And/or ALL CAPS.

You're really good at making sense of the BCLibs. But this comment seems beneath you. How's about we give the guy a week in the White House before we start raggin' on him for his Twitter skills.

But Jon--

That's the point.

This WASN'T a Tweet.

Okay, i missed that. My bad.

And i think i follow what you're getting at: He's been privileged and well taken care of his whole life; and, he's likely not all that that comfortable with the deluge of new media or digital technologies (being a ripe ole' 70).

i Guess i 'm just getting a little prickly about this eagerness to jump all over the guy even before he's been in the oval office for an hour. Let's give him a 100 days and see how it works out. If he becomes a problem for us regulars, then you can be certain i'll be joining the fight to oppose whatever he's doing wrong. Then again, it might not turn out to be all that bad: i mean, his proposal to create more jobs for the locals and rebuild the domestic infrastructure sounds like a pretty reasonable notion, no? Heck, could Detroit get any worse?

Cheers.

Trump to Continue "Freaking Mainstream Media Out", Will "Boldly Use" Twitter For Policy Announcements

Jan 2, 2017 2:10 PM

Having drawn the ire of the mainstream press for his extensive use of Twitter in announcing major developments and policy shifts, President-elect Donald Trump will not end the "onslaught" of posts on Twitter that fed his unconventional campaign, even after taking on the formalized duties of the Oval Office later this month, as Bloomberg notes following an announcement by incoming White House press secretary Sean Spicer who said he expects Trump "will boldly use" Twitter to make major policy announcements.

Shortly after his victory on November 8, Trump said in an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes” that he was rethinking his use of social media: “I’m going to be very restrained, if I use it at all, I’m going to be very restrained,” Trump said. That, however, has not happened and since then, during the countdown to Inauguration Day on Jan. 20, he’s shown little sign that he intends to follow that pledge.

In fact, making news and issuing statements on social media sites that also include Facebook and Instagram will “absolutely” continue, despite any prior promises to the contrary, incoming White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”

“You know what? The fact of the matter is that when he tweets, he gets results,” Spicer said.
