Mr. Kash Heed Is Not The Only Close Associate Of Gordon Campbell....

.
....That Has Been Let Down Easy By Terrence Robertson

Update Friday am: Andrew MacLeod in The Tyee has now gone deep on this issue
_____

Remember this, which some have dubbed Mr. Terrence Robertson's 'Triple-D' manoeuvre, from the fall of 2008:

...In his report, (Special Prosecutor Terrence) Robertson said he believed (former Deputy Minister to Gordon Campbell, Kenneth) Dobell could have been convicted of influence peddling - a Criminal Code offence. But he said it was not in the public interest to charge Dobell with influence peddling because the career civil servant "held an honest but mistaken belief throughout that this activities were lawful."...

I think it is debatable, even now, if this decision from the good Mr. Robertson was, indeed, really in the 'public interest'.

Regardless, I would most humbly argue, that the decision was very definitely in the best political interests of one Mr. Gordon Campbell just a scant few months before British Columbia's last provincial election.

Thus, for Mr. Campbell to now feign surprise at the recently released BC Liberal Party bonafides of Mr. Robertson and his Law Firm is, if you ask me, nothing short of outrageously obfuscatory.....

....In the extreme.

OK?

We followed the story of the trials and tribulations of Mr. Dobell closely at the time, but we thank Andrew MacLeod of the Tyee and, gulp, the BC Conservative Party (ie. not the Dippers, alas) for reminding us of this most important detail yesterday.
Oh and feel free to have a go at what the 'Triple D' might stand for in the comments, if you so wish.....
And then, of course, there was the time Wally O went Prosecutor-Shopping, which, based on the timing, destroyed the case for the prosecution....Which has us wondering about this one now too - and we are NOT talking about the non existent case about Mr. Heed, but rather that against the man who, allegedly, has a hankering for Mojitos....This really stinks, and may even rattle the windows and doors of the RailGate Trial.....Ian Mulgrew and Chad Skelton of the suddenly unleashed VSun have those stories which we and others (ie. the folks in the Bloggodome who just 'make stuff up') have been talking about for some time.....
Geez....Might even be forced to listen to the Sophists spin their thing as they avert their eyes from what they are being forced to peer at from their perch on the edge of the Ledge on the Smyth-steered Goodship Watercarrier this morning......Sheesh.....
Friday 9:40...OK...I tried, I really did try to listen to the Sophists.....but I had to stop.....No Prosecutor shop = destroyed prosecution.....No previous BC Liberal-friendly decision....No RCMP questions BEFORE the Heed decision....Oh, and no, they are not trying to play out the clock, but the statute of limitations is running out so they better get going....And finally, it is all the NDP's fault for not raising SP protocol issues during the 1990's....

And RossK, Dobell's contract for lobbying on behalf of the city was one that intersected with the planning decisions for the BC Place lands. You know, with the casino and all.

While reading Andrew Macleod's Tyee article, my mind wandered back to your posts on mr. dobell, RossK. Figured you'd chime in - thanks for not letting me down!

BTW, sorry you felt obligated to listen to Watercarriers'RUs this am - apparently they are still as worthless as ever. Wouldn't know, though, as I'm still blissfully CKNoWnothing-free . . . .

'Tis funny Bob....

I write ahead....So I had this cued up late Wednesday....but I waited, not wanting to bury the lede on all the stuff that went down yesterday....Thus, even though it doesn't really matter (unlike say the Science geek business) it was a weird feeling to see the BC Cons b/w Mr. MacLeod scoop me....

(to be honest, I thought there would be much more proMedia focus on the Prosecutor Shopping that Wally O did on on the Bountiful case.)

Regarding the Sophists....you are right, it was a real mistake to think that they might finally shed their oh-so-world-weary-cynicism-skins....it didn't happen....

So far the Liberals have put on a typical third term in office performance. The Americans were right to restrict Presidencies to two terms. Too bad their Constitution did not place a similar restriction on their other elected people.

I hear talk The People of the Province are Unhappy, as is their wont between elections. That said, I have not heard such talk in Tim Horton's about a ruling right wing party since the Good Lord Van Der Zalm's dark period.

The Olympic Hangover is delivering on its golden promise.
