Double Secret Probation Update: Saturday pm...What Vaughn Palmer did and did not say about a blowback thingy...
_____

Did you know...

That, as Bob Mackin has pointed out, Snooklandian Minister of Everthing, Rich Coleman, waited 246 days before he released the Portland Hotel Society (PHS) audit late this week:

...The spotlight really needs to be shining brightly on Housing Minister Rich Coleman. Coleman was also Housing Minister when DERA was sued in 2010. Only three months before last year’s provincial election, B.C. Housing ordered KPMG to undertake the forensic audit. The audit gathered dust on a shelf for 246 days before it was finally released on March 20. Why didn’t Coleman act swiftly last summer when it was delivered?...

****

Now.

Why would the good Mr. Coleman wait that long?

Or.

To be more specific, why did he release it late this week?

Hmmmm....

Let's think about that for a minute...

Gosh.

What exactly, was the biggest story in #bcpoli at the beginning of the week before the PHS bombshell was dropped on the Lotuslandian proMedia herd near week's end?

You know, the story that was running solid for the Dippers for almost three days straight.

Oh, ya.

I remember it now.

But....

Does the average citizen, now that the entire fleet of newscycles has been jammed the work of the Wizards of Snooklandia?

Remember that other story I mean.

_____
And again, given the full tilt proMedia boogey on crazy-assed, indulgent publicly-funded expenditures by Alison Redford and Jenny Kwan (and/or her former husband), why, exactly, has no rabid herd member brought up...this?

Happy weekend Ross - excellent point about the long-delayed report - as usual Mackin has something interesting to report, doesn't he?

The pile on at Tyee continues apace - some folks have tried to bring up Miss Christy's travel arrangements but so far the barracudas aren't biting!

As for Jenny Kwan - I haven't noticed her close personal friend mr T come 'round to defend her either!

OK..I agree in part, gasblaster Coleman sat on the report, ultimately the BC Liberals are in charge of monies, however..

However, Jenny is no Kash Heed bambi/newbie politician.

I`d would have expected her significant other to come clean, go public and tell the pro-Liberal-media herd that he did indeed tell wifey that his personal pay cheque dollars were funding trips..

I agree about Christy Clark`s oyster bar shindig spending, and air flights on Mclean`s faster than BC Rail whispering pines airexpress..

But he didn`t come clean..

Politicians must be wary, single male politicians can be set up by seductive black widow spiders, points, click rolling shutters and game over, or of gift acceptance.

Gordon Muir Campbell didn`t step down, John Les didn`t step down, even the Stallion-criminal Kash Heed didn`t do the right thing..

When was it announced that no political error is worthy of resigning.

You damn right the BC Liberals and media are afraid of John Horgan..

Jenny Kwan has a full pension and many connections..

Right or wrong, she screwed up.

And I`m shocked the Tyee crowd is defending the actions of the spoiled few, I`m not against what PHS did, or Insite, I`m against theft by those with already stuffed full of cash pockets.

Are you all ready for election ads showing Jenny Kwan dining on lobster in Vienna, drinking Guiness in Bristol, ads showing limo rides and clinking champagne glasses.

As you say and have said G West..

"British Columbia is a Conservative rightwing province"

GW--

Good point about the missing-in-action T.

_____

Grant--

I agree.

Egregious indeed.

But, in my opinion, paying Air McLean big bucks to go to Edmonton is pretty much in the same class.

I mean, wonder what they serve on board.

Hey.

Maybe there are invoice line items somewhere that detail the specifics of Ms. Clark's entourage use of Blackcomb Air's "In-flight catering and refreshments".

Problem with this theory is the Kwan stuff was leaked by the NDP.

John Les ..... Earthquake Terminator

Seems like the BC Liberals got roasted over that decision, by the public.

It is suspicious isn't, Rich Coleman, the Minister in charge of BC Housing, sits on a hot potato for ten years, and not once did he suggest a Core Review be done on his cherished portfolio.

It certainly shows the politics that any Party will go to to make others look like shit. eg. Ethnic Memo had John Yap relieved of his duties, Harry Bloy before him for stupidity (and still happening eg. RCMP)

Anon--

Interesting.

So... blowback against gang of 13?

Needs to be said. Leak about this came "from the Liberals, and also some tongues wagging in NDP"...according to the Dean.

Still, the audit results are the big deal, less so who was talking

Merv--

I'm on it - thanks.

Would appear that the Twittmachine shills are partaking in pretzel logic once again.

I warned during that last NDP leadership what would happen if Adrian Dix became leader...

Guess what, it did, memogate memogate memogate..

Read what I wrote during the last NDP leadership contest about Adrian Dix..

April 13/2011...

__________

Well here we go, coming down to the wire in the NDP leadership contest, three men left standing, Adrian Dix, Mike Farnworth and John Horgan, three superstars in their own right, let`s break down the nuts and bolts and get into meat of things.....

Adrian Dix, a pit bull, antagonistic, aggressive and capable, however, unfortunately Adrian brings out visceral feelings in people, he`s a love em or hate em type guy and those who hate him really hate him, personally speaking if Adrian didn`t have two sets of baggage with him I might have considered voting for him, the first set is the infamous memo-gate, Dix back dated a memo to cover Glen Clark`s rear end and got caught, that wasn`t a mistake of spoken words it was planned and executed, the Liberals will key on that in election ads and it will hurt, actually it`s probably fatal, that would be hard enough to overcome by itself but when you add in the sack of cash separate from the stack of memberships Adrian dropped off at the deadline for new members, I`ve been told a few hundred of those ballots have been rejected...I suspect the BC Liberals would run an election ad like this....The caption, (A young Adrian Dix), they show a young Adrian sneaking into an office using white out on a document then return it to the file, then the next caption...(An older Adrian Dix)..They show a man with sacks of cash and stacks of memberships laughing and tee heeing, it would doom our party..But Adrian Dix would be a marvelous health minister.

Imagine it's spring of 2013 in Coleman country, what does the future look like? Would you like to have a nice fat bomb to drop on a fresh NDP government? Stick it on the shelf, it's worth more in the fall as ammunition, either against a new NDP government or to distract an NDP opposition.

RossK said...

Anon-Above--

I hear you.

Except, working backwards, I think Darth's wizards got their hands on the goods just after the last election.

Matter of fact, Bob Mackin says it was last summer... here.

No one had to leak the details of Jenny Kwan's involvement.
We all knew Dan Small was one of the executives who resigned, we all knew Dan and Jenny were married, we all knew who were the "executive and wife and 2 children" who went to Disneyland.
Coleman just had to sit back and let public information take it's course.
Political opportunism as it's best.

Most excellent points Anon-Above.

Thanks.

Maybe Richard Coleman is getting "even" with the NDP for his fumbling/stumbling out of the BC Leadership race blocks when it was revealed by the Globe and Mail of the $27,000 "donation": Brewery that supported B.C. cabinet minister gains millions on disputed tax break
