Just a about peed my pants when I saw this. Not as simple as the real thing but it is about time BC adopted it's own petro-national socialist flag for the inevitable rallies to be held as we march onward into the debt-free Promised Land of Prosperity for All.
I know you're not making this up, Ross. I'm just wondering who did...if you want to see some aesthetic ground-zero stuff, a quick perusal of municipal heraldic devices will usually suffice, but gawd!...that's the worst piece of butt-ugly logo-kitsch I've seen in a long while.
Now, the wrench and hammer do remind the hammer and sickle of totalitarian communism (who stole it from utopian communists) but we should remind that other crossed implements might have been the inspiration for this kindermorgarten cut&paste collage: the crossed pick-axes indicating mining, crossed swords for famous battle-sites and the crossed bones of Jolly Rodger for poison---hmmm...come to think of it, those three could adequately sum up Christy's LNG policy, for the toxicity of frack-mining will surely cross swords with the majority of BC who want to preserve clean, toxin-free ground water. Maybe that's what is represented in the foreground as flowing toward us viewers: free water for the frackers, who care more about "free" than about toxicity.
And what about the atmosphere? I guess that little cloud there could represent either leaked methane (the major component of natural gas which is some thirty-fold more potent that CO2 as a GHG) or the carbon dioxide produced by burning methane---or both. Maybe it's an empty thought-balloon hovering over Christy'd little hard-hat there---which is also empty---oh!---now I get it!...har, har,...very clever!
Just like a cheesy small town coat of arms, it makes sense once the imagery is explained---which, if I think way back to a philosophy of aesthetics course I once took as a spare, means it's not good art, not "beautiful"---like ruining a joke by having to explain the punchline.
The background is faint but I detect $$$ among the trees wow! Totally ridiculous. What is very telling is the responses people are giving her on Twitter.
"Just released to the public, the 14-page document cites few sources, contains a couple of basic spelling errors and does little more than rehash the workings of the Finnish school system, one of the most studied education systems on the planet.
“I’m at a loss to understand the rationale behind this debacle,” reads a Monday blog post by B.C education researcher E. Wayne Ross. “Ignorance? Disrespect? A combo platter, with arrogance on the side?”
There's dollars in them thar overcut past sustainable forests!
(or is that dollars to the greedheads who turn tree farm licenses into developer windfalls?)
But what I wanna know is what that piggy-bankish looking shadowy thing with the 'S' on it is just under the 'BC's' writing.
On the double-plus brightside for all you attacking the developer of petro-dollar nationaliststate double-good flag...They spelled 'seizing' correctly!
Now if only they could make our trains run on time.
How long will it take the good premier to delete those negative nancy tweets that she was bombarded with? The logo looks like some sort of coup, not a once in a lifetime opportunity to create a trillion $$$ prosperity fund, which by the way should be done with or without LNG. Clark and her gang are too stupid to see that rule #1 is not to put all your eggs in one basket. Someone commented about the lucrative marijuana industry that makes billions right under all of our collective noses yet all her government can muster is a claw back of $187 in support payments whilst drug dealers make major bucks, all tax free. Some of the LNG fantasy may actually come true, but the BC taxpayer is not by a long shot ever going to benefit from any of it.

Looks like the intern picked up some artsy skills while 'researching' education in Finland.

If anyone doesn't know the story of the teeenage young Liberal paid $16K to "research" education in Finland, here's an excerpt from the National Post B.C.’s ‘superintendent of achievement’ under fire for commissioning $16K education report from 19-year-old he met at wedding
