First, the lede from Simona Chiose's report in the Globe:
Political strategist Nick Kouvalis and (Sarah Warry-Poljanski) a defeated candidate for the provincial Conservative nomination of Hamilton Mountain are facing charges of breaking and entering after they allegedly broke into a Kelseys restaurant after hours and helped themselves to drinks...
And now, the kicker:
...No plea has been entered in the case, said Dirk Derstine, a criminal lawyer who is representing the political strategist. Mr. Derstine said Mr. Kouvalis has been involved in Ms. Warry-Poljanski's nomination bid. "Mr. Kouvalis denies having had any criminal intent on that night and wants to make it absolutely clear that nothing he did was with any criminal intention," Mr. Derstine said...

so next time you shoot some one the defense can be, but I didn't mean for the gun to go off? how can you tell this is a political operative. He didn't mean to cause any problems. It was just an accident. Nice try. Of course he will continue to be employed by the Cons. OMG that just made my day, gave me a good laugh. Don't those cons usually run on a law and order type platform? Guess they were just too drunk to know what they were doing/ hey maybe that is why they work for the Cons.
He can come out here,help out the ripoff party. Part of their outreach program,3 gold stars 4 a criminal charge. One of the pantingly desperate wannabe leaders ran a red,maimed a citizen,lied to cops,and solved it all with a payoff. Birds of a feather....
