Climbing into the Ring with Conyers?

John Conyers, the lone US Congressman with spine enough to stand up to Diebold and the Rovians needs a Senator by his side to get the Ohio vote contest ball rolling in earnest.

Looks like maybe, just maybe, he might have found one in Barbara Boxer, Democrat from NorCal.

Boxer was once an old time firebrand congresswoman who stomped on the terra with fellow travellers like Ron Dellums, but some of the waygone lefties figure she's gone a little soft since then.

Here's hoping the old gang, folks like Bernie Ward, who once worked for Boxer on Capitol Hill are working her over hard right now.

After all, it's only a little matter called Democracy that's at stake here.
