Who could have known that the greasy kid with a guitar and songs about clandestine meetings under the boardwalks and cars he never drove would come to embody all that remains of American exceptionalism.

Ridiculous hypberbole, you say?

Perhaps.

But Bruce Springsteen never let me down.

And, now, in the 'Seeger Sessions', he shows he's learned to do sing-a-longs too.

The torch is passing, and the moment is so fine that I'm even willing to wade through the commercials and crap to see some of it here.

Somewhere, I think, Woody, and maybe even Lee Hayes too, are both smilin'.
