...Or Both?
In politics, the use of "dirty tricks" to discredit one's opponent(s). This often takes the form of false or semi-false accusations spread through underhanded means. The term was coined in the 1960s by Hunter S. Thompson and Bob Woodward.
But here's something that has been mini-swirling through the feverswamps for a few days now, and the ripples seem to have found their way into the pages of The New Yorker.
Which is the whispered suggestion that maybe, just maybe, all this attack-addling and video-smearing of Mitt Romney by the Newticle is not actually f*cking, but is instead rodent-driven inoculation for a short attention-spanned nation that will see it all as old news not worth worrying about come fall.
So.
What did the producer of the supposed 'anti-capitalist' hitpiece video “When Mitt Romney Came to Town”, a man named Barry Bennett who is a right-sider that has worked extensively for Rick 'Three Things' Perry, have to say when the New Yorker's Kelefa Sanneh asked him about it:
Why, this, of course:
“I wanted people to see what the Democrats are going to do [to] this guy.”
And one other thing.
The Director of the above-linked video is a fine fellow named Jason Millon Keath, who according to the New Yorker:
....has previously worked with the Stevens & Schriefer Group, a consulting firm that worked on Romney’s 2008 Presidential campaign...
Imagine that!

Surely, the radical reich strives always to stoop ever lower and the the nation has a short attention span.
But if Willard gets the nomination, then the Dems would again, like a cosmic constant, prove their political stupidity and self-survival spinelessness to fail keep addressing the national short attention span with the message provided by Newtie the rat.
If the good Doctor were still with us he may just have referred to the above political pillow fluffing exercize as 'Ratsturbation."
