Who Will Decide On Supertankers Off Jericho Beach?

AllTheShillophantsThatFit

It is a very important question.

More tanker traffic heading in and out of Burrard Inlet every single day is one thing.

But if they become supertankers?

Well.

The potential for total environmental destruction goes up by a factor of double-indemnity infinity.

So....

Who will decide?

Well, not to worry according to Bush Ranger Bobby Kinder's boy in Canada, Mr. Ian 'I'm Not The Flute Player' Anderson, who told CKNW late Thursday that we are all safe because that decision will be made by The Port of Vancouver.

So (again)....

Who are the fine folks that do the decidin' these days over at the 'Ol Port?

I've been trying to do some research on M. Hochstein - beyond the obvious puffery that's available on the guy - and have come up with very little solid material.

Any thoughts about where one should start looking?

Just look for Hochstein or Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Victoria 1984

However, what Mr. Hoschstein is really after is to become the first BC elected Senator, beating out Rich Coleman!

Sarah Morgan-Silvester is being replaced by Hochstein.

I wonder if he has the same beliefs as Morgan-Silvester:

“Why me? Well, why not me?” she asks with a touch of indignation. “You just have to stand on your own merit. If you happen to fit the skill set, you’re a good board member.”

Directors appointed — with the Minister consulting users — shall have generally acknowledged and accepted stature within the transportation industry or the business community and relevant knowledge and extensive experience related to the management of a business, to the operation of a port or to maritime trade.

But there's this: Who is NOT Eligible:

"An individual who is a director, officer or employee of a person who is a user of the port"; Hochstein is the president of the truckers who use the port.....DUH.
