Never Mind The Crunch....Here Comes The Craven

"The (BC) Liberal government (of Christy Clark and Gordon Campbell) opened the door to burning garbage by approving a Metro Vancouver plan that will allow garbage incineration....A vote for the B.C. Conservatives is a vote to shut the door on the Liberal garbage incinerator."

"Over the past decade, the (BC) Liberal government (of Christy Clark and Gordon Campbell) has created a “catch and release” justice system."

•"The (BC) Liberal government (of Christy Clark and Gordon Campbell) has failed the people of British Columbia and has squandered trust with the public on issues such paying $6 million in legal fees for two convicted criminals (Basi and Virk) and the introduction of the HST shortly after the last election when they said it was not on the table."

Premier Christy Clark shrugs off past attacks of former BC Con(new Lib)John Martin:
"We all say things when we are trying to get elected."

wow, a self revelation that absolves her and the Linos

Anon-Above

There's no absolvement like self-absolvement.

As for abasement of the self?

Well, that usually comes from a whole different set of revelations, entirely.

Usually.

Christy is actually right, the BC liberals say anything to be elected. Gordon Campbell promised, the BCR wasn't for sale, and the HST wasn't on his radar. That's one reason, Harper and Campbell are best buddies. Both of them, lied, deceived and cheated to win.

Neither Harper nor Campbell told BC citizens, Campbell was working for Harper. However, those are the dirty tactics we now all expect, from Harper, and the Campbell/Clark BC Liberals.

I don't profess to know anything political strategies, but making a big deal about Martin in a short-term effort to poke at the Conservatives - who are already doing a fine of poking at themselves - seems too cute by half. Too much a look-how-clever-we-are schoolboy politics club stunt.
All his comments about Liberal corruption and incompetence get trotted out and his campaign starts with a David Emerson stink to it.
Christy Clark's comment that all politicians lie to get elected has a real Brian Mulroney quality. That's not a compliment.

@ Paul, I agree, the John Martin thing is just stupid and actually insulting to Chilliwack voters. However, I don't think Martin will actually get the BC Liberal nomination in that riding. He's being played as part of the Liberals' Plan B.

And now Van Dongen resigning! Makes him look like an idiot (especially given his intervenor status on BC Rail).

Looks like this is the coup de grace for the BC Conservatives.

And my guess is it that it has been orchestrated by the BC Liberals. Plan A: merge with the Conservatives. Plan B: destroy the Conservatives (of course the Conservatives have been ably assisting in their own destruction).

The Premier's remark that "we all say things when we are trying to get elected" is a very, very sad comment about her view of politics. And only Ross has it posted.

If Adrian Dix had said that, it would be repeated nonstop by the MSM until the election date and forever after.

Dix looks more and more statesman like, especially compared to the gong show on the other side of the political spectrum.

Will be very interesting, and the dirtiest fight ever, as the big money boys do whatever it takes in their bid to re-elect the BC Liberals and remain in control of what's left of the province.

Hopefully voters will vote for Dix and a government that works for ALL British Columbians.

Paul--

Eau de Emerson, with a hint of the Brian.

Wow.

Even the end of the Clover Pt. pipe has a more pleasing fragrance than that.

Does it not?

Speaking of which, maybe Ms. Clark should consider dumping Ms. Chong and running Mr. Floatie against the good Dr. Weaver in OBGH.

After all, despite his stinky presence at numerous events in the past, I do not recall Mr. F. ever having shot his mouth off in the fashion of Mr. Martin.

I fear you may be right about the dual-tracking of the plans...

Regarding the quote - I am amazed that the Globe didn't run with it given that it was Ms. Hunter that tweeted it.

______
And for all readers who might be in the know....

What's with this Dean-assisted rumour that Mr. Hutchinson of the NaPo has been blacklisted by the Snook and friends?

If you need any help figuring out how to deal with perennials (deadheading, etc.), just let me know. I'm planning an excursion in my garden tomorrow and have my checklist of which plants gets deadheaded, cut to the base, divided and replanted, etc.

Oh boy--

Hope hydrangea's are OK to scalp back.

'Cause it's too late now, regardless.

sounds like you did what is recommended. Supposed to clip off the flowers in mid-August to mid-September. Leave the rest of the leaves.

How did I manage to change the subject to gardening? Maybe I'm thinking about Van der Zalm?
