...When you don't have enough money for bus passes for the adult disabled, you've got ask yourself if you want to use $11 million dollars of public money (again?) so that you can watch the BC Liberal Party's 'reasonable' purse-holding minister do....

This.

Sheesh.

No....

Super sheesh.

_______
That 'reasonable' minister thing?....That's Ron Obvious' term, not mine.

Obscene.

John Hurt as Caligula comes to mind.

re Bollywood audience "tell"…look at the guy on the left averting his eyes 14 seconds in…love to see how many others in the audience were cringing…

check this out circa 54 seconds:

De Jong plays much of the Indo community in Abbotsford like a cheap fiddle. It would go against type for this guy not to be trying to make this BS awards show happen - only because The People want it and it will attract even more people to the Vancouver area to assist, with their purchases, our struggling real estate sector.

I'm on it Chuck--

Although there is a wee matter of 'conflictyness' associated with the Conflict Commissioner.

A review of the international visitor arrivals on this website http://www.destinationbc.ca/Research/Industry-Performance/International-Visitor-Arrivals.aspx reveals the following figures for those entering from India:

2005 - 21,744 11.1% increase
2006 - 24,140 11.0%
2007 - 31,516 30.6%
2008 - 35,114 11.4%
2009 - 36,492 3.9%
2010 - 43,186 18.3%
2011 - 43,443 0.6%
2012 - 46,565 7.2%
2013 - 49,807 7.0%
2014 - 60,128 20.7%
2015 - 65,180 8.4%

A very rough analysis of these figures would indicate that the 2010 increase was due to the Olympics, the flat rate in 2011 was due to a burnout pause, the normal increase is about 11.8%, and that something caused a bump in 2014.

IF the Bollywood affair held here in 2013 was responsible for the bump in 2014, the bump was about 10% over average, and if each visitor spent $625 while here (Destination BC figures), that would equal about $3.1 million total spending. Seems to me that Christy Clark spent at least $8 million of our money on nothing more than self-aggrandizement.
