Well, well, well...
The behindest-of-behind-the-scene scenesters of all times has written a letter, not to the BCUC, but instead to Mr. Horgan.
And Club members like this one are lapping it up:
Of course, hidden inside the so-called 'bluff calling' instrument (i.e. Ms. Clark's letter) is an actual bluff:
Which leads citizens who pay attention, folks like Lew Edwardson for example, to ask the following of the good Mr. Smyth and his ilk:
Meanwhile...
When, exactly, is our legislature, where such things can be openly discussed and debated, opening again?

Bravo for Lew Edwardson!!!!!!
And of course Christy, depending on the BCUC findings, diverting the river may not be an issue, the river may just be fine AS IS
And in rebuttal to the letter, there is this excellent response;

One hopes that Mr Horgan will simply ignore Clark's letter - after printing a copy and placing it firmly through the shredder.
That's funny, Christy Clark giving an ultimatum of a four day warning, otherwise the penalty is $600 million.
What about Section 2.3
Construction Schedule may change or be delayed, based on permit issuance, WEATHER, or other PROJECT changes.

Oh boy--
Me thinks Mr. Weaver thinks like NVG and, maybe, just maybe, a little bit like our Mr. Farrell.
That letter of his, which goes a long way to doing what Mikey Mike should have been doing since 2001, is a doozy.
So much for Ms. Clark's real intent, which I reckon was to 'strain' the coalition.
We await Marky Mark's retort with bated breath...

Don't you just love Lew Edwardson's ability to target the heart of an issue and say so much in so few words. Everytime, he writes something, I know it is worth reading.
Norm--
Yes.
On all accounts.

It's pretty hard for the current crop of legislative reporters to research any facts when they seem to do nothing more than regurgitate the press releases thrown out by the Liberal Party.
I guess real investigative reporting is too hard.
I suspect we will be treated to another editorial opinion on the virtues of site C by Brad Bennett in the next couple of days in one of Post Media's editions of their fish wrap.
Another aspect of site C.

Thank you Norm and RossK; you are both too kind. Please consider this the written equivalent of a blush, and know that any comment I make has usually been informed by your work, if not that of Laila, Rafe, or Merv.
In that regard, and in the absence of some serious chicanery, we will soon have a new government. Doors will be unlocked, carpets will be lifted and closets checked, curtains and blinds will be opened, and windows raised to let in fresh air and sunlight. Revelations will come, and most will be an indictment of the journalistic proficiency of our local corporate media members. They will be on the defensive when the public considers how it’s been (mis)informed, their actions foreshadowed by the post below titled “And So It Begins…”, and confirmed by yesterday’s coordinated attempt to attach $600M of the Site C travesty to John Horgan before he even attains office.
But you will ultimately prevail, because you always use a weapon most of the pro media hereabouts too often doesn’t seek or deliberately leaves on the shelf. The truth.

"Halting work on the Site C dam could save British Columbians up to $2 billion, according to a report from UBC’s Program on Water Governance."
Please...we need forensic audits of most government departments, BC Hydro, ICBC and MSP. There is a great deal of financial and legal information that taxpayers have the right to scrutinize via the new legislature. Much of the mess the bc Liberals have left has to be analyzed and gone through with a fine toothed legal comb. Ultimately a corruption inquiry has to be held into the past 15 years of questionable governance in this province.
$600 million. That won't even buy a new roof for BC Place stadium.
I wonder why McDonald thinks that it will take a lot longer than 6 weeks to answer the BCUC questions. One would hope that BC Hydro would have the project justification at their fingertips.
Anon-Two-Above--
Agreed.
Heckfire - we might even need a forensic auditing ministry and/or an AudGen with teeth again.
_____
Anon-Directly-Above--
Suspect that certain fine folks at Hydro and the associated ministry are very busy filing the prints off their fingertips about now.
.
I bet all the BC Hydro cronies testifying at the BC Utilities Commission hearing will speak v e r y s l o w l y....
Martin--
And, of course, they will also refuse to speak to the assembled media either before or afterwards, especially if there are either audio or video recording devices present.
