This Groundhog Day In Clarkland...Asking The Feds To Do Something We Won't.

Sorry about this folks, but I'm not letting this one go just because the news cycle has passed.

Why?

Because this hit-and-run journalism followed by the forgettery is the reason we are in the mess we're in, I reckon.

Anyway, to the point....

On the fentanyl crisis matter once again, Clarklandian Health Minister Terry Lake says it's time for the Fed's to step up to the plate according to the MoCo's Catharine Tunney:

..."The lights are coming on but we can't wait. We need urgent action to save lives in British Columbia," Terry Lake said.

Lake said B.C. — which has seen more than 600 opioid overdose deaths alone this year — should act as a warning sign.

"We need a high-level relationship with China to to stop the flow of illegal fentanyl, which is a poison," he said.

Lake said he'd also like to see federal legislation to control pill press machines, the devices used to turn raw drugs like fentanyl into counterfeit tablets for sale on the streets.

Lake said Ottawa is aware of the issue but hasn't shown that it's willing to back up commitments with money...

Which is all well and good as far as it goes, but....

Regarding that 'banning the pill presses' thing, why didn't Mr. Lake and his friends (and, of course, his word salad-spinning boss), pass legislation to do just that when it was introduced in the British Columbia legislature last summer?

Seriously.

Why didn't they take concrete action then?

(and, again, why is our legislature closed right now?)

Blame the Feds is the "New" Liberal mantra. Adopted from across the border, of course. No mention of efforts to start the fight earlier. Their response now, Media Ads. Shameful and deceitful.
The same pattern on Fentanyl, Health Care Initiatives and Real estate taxes.
Damn, I wish people would read and the MSM would just get real. No chance tough. Welcome to America Columbia!

The bigger question is why didn't Premier Christy Clark deal with pill presses in HER own Riding of West Kelowna, instead of Masset and Vancouver? The pill pushers arrived on the doorsteps of the Free Enterprisers back in December of 2015 and raids took place on March of 2016. Why didn't the Premier go to the news media and make promises then instead of delaying until last week?

blame it on the federal government. a play from the books of old WAC Bennett. Gee Christy is older than I thought. Christy and the B.C. Lieberals aren't going to do anything concrete about the Fent. over doses or deaths. That would cost money. she didn't call the House to sit, because she would be required to answer questions regarding the Fent. crisis. The crisis isn't new. Like how long ago did our Senior health officer declare it an emergency? What did the photo op queen do since then? Not much beyond buy a white suit and go to Ottawa and then tell Ottawa to do something. Fent. has been out there for some years and people have been dying from it the whole time. Christy and her cabal never cared about it then and don't know. its just another photo op.

If Christy and her cabal wanted to do anything about it, we would have new hospital beds for people to detox in and if we didn't have the room at least kids would be sent to WHERE it could be done. Not one extra nickel has been spent on any of this. The B.C. Lieberals haven't even put out any money to fund a gang squad to target Fent. manufacturing and dealing. come to think of it didn't Christy disband some gang squad a few years ago.

At the rate Christy Clark and her B.C. Lieberals do nothing about this Fent. crisis you'd think they were making money off of it. WEll WHO KNOWS WHO ATTENDS THOSE LITTLE SOIREES for the pay to play crowd.

If people want to save lives in B.C.and protect the children of this province, vote her out of office come next May.

Interesting post over on Blog Borg Collective about a Fent. bust in Christy Clark's riding! You betcha a nice big drug bust in KELOWNA. Guess she doesn't want to talk about that. Perhaps that is why we aren't seeing her take much action against Fent. producers. she has them in her riding! Over to Christy and the gang on that one.

Gee doesn't Kelowna have a rather nasty Hell's Angels chapter there also?

Well...An MLA has to actually spend time in a riding to know what's actually going on there I suppose.

Good find NVG.

The only reason the Legislature is closed right now is that Christy & Co. do not want their responses to the various issues facing the citizens of BC to be a permanent record. They do not wish to be accountable for neither their actions nor their responses. Nothing more, nothing less.

Health minister Lake; (who apparently doesn’t know much science about substances)

“"We need a high-level relationship with China to to stop the flow of illegal fentanyl, which is a poison," he said.”

"All substances are poisons; there is none which is not a poison. The right dose differentiates a poison and a remedy…." Paracelsus (1493-1541)

Never concern yourself with the chemical, only the concentration. Water, oxygen and (literally) everything else is toxic at the proper dose.

Only charlatans fail to describe the concentrations (and toxicity levels) of the scary sounding chemicals they want you to fear (as an entirely dishonest means to their purely political ends).

IMO-every day in BC is election day way too busy to run democracy p2p and fundraising while canceling fall sitting.?
