This Day In Clarkland: How Many More Farms...

...Will Big Rich Sell?

Grant G. has the real story behind the latest  developments down at the Sparkle Pony Farm:

...Coleman said it is “quite likely” that he would meet in October with the president of Petronas in Malaysia and the presidents of the four minority partners to “restart our discussions in and around our project development agreement (PDA).”...

{snip}

Someone needs to ask Rich Coleman what the hell is going on, ask him how you restart talks on a PDA enshrined by legislation....ask Rich Coleman when will the BC Liberal sellout government bring forth a new PDA?..I won't hold my breath waiting for Keith Baldrey or Michael Smyth to ask to tough questions...

Lastly....I said it many many times..."The only way Petronas will build an LNG plant is if we pay them to take the gas"...

Indeed.

And did you see how much the Feds have downgraded Big Rich's most sparkly 'jobs numbers' with their pay-to-play announcement yesterday?

Sheesh.

100,000 jobs down to 4500. And during the announcement,Clark in the background didn't even bat an eye and the smirk never left her face. Once again, dishonesty and exaggeration are the main foundation of Clark's political ambitions.

Is Coleman going to use that LNG bullshit again this election. I think that they have flogged that dead horse once to often. Christy will only show up at these discussions if there is someone with a camera. Baldry will show up if there is any horse manure to scoop up, or there is free drinks. The Liberals would have better luck selling there intestinal gas than natural gas.

Like Grant says,Coleman promised 100,000 jobs for 3 plants 33,000 each. Now 650? Dermond Travis points out the private sector is the foreman on these mega projects and control the ultimate costs(over runs). Hopefully now that summer's over people will wake up.

Turned off the sound during the "announcement" with Christy at the mike. Its a good way to check body language. the two federal cabinet ministers looked like they were at a funeral. No happy campers there.

Big Rich will go have a great time in Malyasia, give the province away. Christy can blame Rich at a later date, not her fault, she wasn't there.

The number of jobs will be minimal once the LNG plants are built. during the building they will be less than minimal. there could be none. With the free trade agreements around, PETRONAS can move their operation to a Mexico and bring in workers from there, saying they are "essential" to the construction/whatever. there will be nothing the federal or provincial government will be able to do. Does any one in their right mind think PETRONAS will pay workers $40 or $50 an hour when they can import their labour and pay them $25 or less? Voters might want to remember when they brought in coal miners from China and in job ads wanted Mandarin as the working language. Then remember some of the oil sand companies getting rid of Canadians and bringing in workers from eastern Europe. Any one who thinks PETRONAS won't do the same may be a tad delusional.

If people vote for the B.C. Lieberals based on this announcement they get what they deserve. what they will be getting is more lousy wage jobs, more child poverty, less money for public education, more homelessness, more taxes, more fees, etc..
