Cluffie Must Go! Vol XXXIX

Civic election coverage....

Disaster!

Case in point, when Ian King came on this morning to talk about the Surrey Mayoral race, the fact that the municipal media monarchist of merciless masticatory maladroitness actually had something interesting to say almost caused a catastrophic bilateral dislocation of my temporal mandibular joints due to sudden screams of pure, unadulterated joy.

In fact, it has gotten so bad that I'm almost willing to let my 12 year old tune into Nat and the Druid on the bad Zed for my 'hard news' in the morning.

___
Update: Good Zed is still sorta/kinda here.

Reasons Cluff must go?

Too many to mention.

How about:

1) He thinks Fred Lee deserves a spot on radio, and one can hear the shite-eating grin on his face as he announces the known-to-be-terrible Lee on promos from Monday's show.

2) Show's opening "chit-chat" with Cecelia Walters is painful and leaves her doing a radio version of a deer in headlights

3) He's so damned loud compared to everyone else (try listening in bed whilst trying to not wake up the significant other - one will wear out the batteries on the remote control rather quickly)

4) He's been there so long it's become self-caraciture, predictable, boring.

5) "IT'S TIME TO CHECK THE BOTTOM LINE!!11!" (See points 3+4.)

6) Depriving someone much more listenable, such as Shiral Tobin, from the spot.

I could probably go on.

Oddly, one thing I think he does do well is election coverage.

Anon--

He's at least passable on election coverage because that's the thing that is most like doing the sports.

Interesting suggestion re: Ms. Tobin. I'm starting to think that she is better on air than behind the scenes. Except, of course, that she just may be the only reason that Rafe is still allowed on the air on Monday mornings.
