Beer 'N Hockey is back.
And he is now a doctor.
More importantly, however, he is also writing again.
To wit, on that recent bridge bashing in Baltimore:
I noted there were no tugboats escorting the container ship out of Baltimore harbour. That, my friends, is what deregulation gets you: death and destruction. The firms which lobbied to save money for their shareholders by decreasing harbour safety ought to be ashamed of themselves. Yeah right. All they give a f*ck about is having the best lawyers in town.
Go give his 'new' place a visit, where 'power is not happiness', when you get a chance.

Yes! Good to hear about Beer, the world needs more Beer. Whoops, that’s Dr. Beer.
I too thought it odd that there were no tugs available should something like that happen. I know for our Lions Gate bridge if there isn’t a tug on the ship coming through they are nearby. I believe the ship did have a local pilot on board, as do ships here, so that’s good but when there is a loss of power and control then that’s not much help. I’m sure we’ll be finding out many surprising things and the rules and regs will be changed up to hopefully avoid this happening again.
It made my day to see that Dr. Beer was back in action. He was greatly missed, but he hasn't lost his touch.
