What's Next?

So, the last major newscycle before Election Eve has come and gone and Mr. Campbell's CannedWest-assisted Big Lie has gone viral.

After all, if the CP Wire picks up the story and adds an in depth 'he said/she said' analysis to the ludicrous premise that 'Teachers Hate Your Children' you've hit the jackpot, right?

But that doesn't mean the LINO's won't want to pile-on.

Or that our supplicant media won't be happy to take on the extra weight.

All of which has us wondering.....

What will the subject of Gary Mason's fluff piece in tomorrow's B.C. Sporting Life section of the Globe be?

An up close and personal, Inside Edition-type treatment of the life and times of Erik Bornman perhaps?

Naw.

The Maceman is probably saving that one for after the election when it won't count for beans.

Instead, how about this.....

An in-depth interview with Mr. Campbell's wife, herself an educator, in which she talks candidly, and at length, about her husband's true love of teachers and all they do (as long as they don't do it as a group)?

*****

More seriously, Joel Connelly has come up to Vancouver from Seattle and written another great piece from the perspective of somebody standing on the outside looking in. Earlier in the week he lambasted our local (mainstream)media. Today he takes on Mr. Campbell's well-timed use of 'the Smear' and calls a spade a spade.

"Going negative will likely work here (B.C.) for a simple reason: On both sides of the 49th Parallel, news media have let the conservative movement go about defining and demonizing those with whom it disagrees."

Now, there are many here that refuse to see this for what it is.

Because if they did they might have to seriously consider the fact that the tactics being used by Mr. Campbell were first perfected by the American Radical Right.

Then again, if the ideological shoe fits......
