...Will Mr. Trump's Approval Numbers Go Up?
The following is the micturation-free lede from the Guardian's recent bit on a former Trump aide's soon-to-be published kinda/sorta tell all book thingy:
Donald Trump is a “racist” who has used the “N-word” repeatedly, Omarosa Manigault Newman, once the most prominent African American in the White House, claims in a searing memoir.
The future US president was caught on mic uttering the taboo racial slur “multiple times” during the making of his reality TV show The Apprentice and there is a tape to prove it, according to Manigault Newman, citing three unnamed sources...
Of course, Mag Hags of the Times is all over this one with ready-made deflector-spike-tire-belt-punturers like the following:
...Frank Luntz, the veteran Republican pollster whom Ms. Manigault Newsman says was believed to have told people he heard Mr. Trump utter the epithet, posted on Twitter to deny that had happened and to point out that he had not been contacted by the author...
Regardless....
Does anyone seriously think that, if it turns out to be 'true', that Mr. Trump's poll numbers will actually suffer?

A tape would only solidify his numbers. It would be confirmation of the racism his detractors abhor and most of his followers expect. As if either group needs it.
The thing that should shock all is that Omarosa was allowed anywhere near the inner workings of the White House in the first place. Trump is fond of declaring that he only hires the "best people". It's amazing how much those he now describes as "low-lifes" and "liars" changed character and competence just after he hired them. And amazing how many of them there are.
If the tape exists and it were played, some would declare: fake news and there are those who'd believe it. there are those who would cheer if they heard trump use the word and it would validate their own racism.
You are either a racist or you're not. But there are degrees of racism also, but given the tape is about did /trump use the n word or not, if the tape proves he did, it won't change the polls much. The base will stick with him. It may change slightly for those who may have voted for Trump but now, have changed their minds. they will most likely simply not vote this time, but not switch to the Dems.
Look at how many voted for Ford...............
