Today, November 20th, 2024, one of the 15 members of the UN Security Council vetoed a permanent ceasefire and hostage release resolution in Gaza.
That one member was the United States.
Therefore, it is clear that the Biden Administration, which is now completely free of the bounds of electoral uncertainty, can no longer pretend that it is committed to having the killing stop and the hostages released.

According the Guardian, U.S. deputy ambassador to the U.N. Robert Wood says it's all about the 'compromise language' put forward by the U.K. that didn't make it into the resolution that resulted in the veto:
...“We regret that the council could have incorporated compromise language the UK put forward to bridge the existing gaps ... With that language, this resolution should have been adopted,” Wood, the US envoy, said following the vote...
But here's the thing.
The U.K., which, like the U.S., is a permanent member of the Security Council, ultimately voted in favour of the resolution.

And they say Israel has no seat at the Security Council. Giving the permanent members a veto was one of the worst governance decisions ever.

As long as Benni is P.M. there wont' be a cease fire and he and the extremists won't be happy until all the Arabs are gone or dead. Part of it, they feel if they don't send a message they will never be free of attack and they just plan hate the other side, for no real reason.
Hate towards the Jews has been around as long as there have been other religions, although for centuries Muslims and Jews lived in the area with no great problem.
Some most likely did not think when Israel retaliated for the invasion it would go on this long, however I do understand what motivates it. It does not justify the killing of children and destroying hospitals, but children grow up to be adults. We have seen in Canada, U.S.A. and other countries the pro Palestinian rallies, we have seen the news clips of shootings at Jewish schools, religious buildings and we have seen it happen to Muslim faith buildings and we've seen Muslims in Canada killed just because they were Muslims.
The Americans aren't that keen on a cease fire. Israel with its modern armed forces is always handy to have around. Do recall when Israel's air force flew over to Iran and bombed their nuclear facilities. That is why its all underground now. Do you really think many western countries were disappointed about that?
The Jews in Israel have a very good understand if push comes to shove they won't be able to count on even the Americans. History has given them enough evidence its never going to be over. They used to use a phrase, "Never Again". Our parental unit said its not, Never Again, its "It can happen again.' It wasn't as if any countries were keen to save the Jews during WW II or prior to it. Canada and the U.S.A. refused entry to Jewish refugees from Europe. G.B. took some, but it was hard to get in. I remember Lily Palmer writing about it in her book, (she was an actress who was married to Rex Harrison=My Fair Lady)
If you have a country which you can become a citizen of, by just being Jewish you want to hang on to that. Actually all you need is for one Grandparent to have been Jewish.
What is going on in the West Bank is nothing more than murder and theft and the Israeli government just lets it continue. In Gaza there has been destruction of all the hospitals, medical staff killed, children killed. Killing children is just unacceptable to me. However I do understand why Israel continues to do what it is doing. Not acceptable, but I do understand it.
Today , Netenyahu played the holocaust card to defy the demand he face charges of holocaust itself!!!
We are seeing the results of this reverse psychology world wide particularly within the USA.

The well connected minorities of the world aka fundamentalist religions have over powered the majority of the reasonably minded majority, due to their woke senseless views that lack pragmatism.
