Public Inquiry Preview...The Friendly Disappears The Lede.

Black Press' very fine legislative columnist Mr. Fletcher of Tom's Harbour recently told us all that GordCo Inc's former Minister of Everything is happy that the public inquiry on all that he and his did to facilitate the exponential growth of 'Hockey Bags Full Of Dusted Cash, Llc.'

But why, we couldn't help wonder, would the former Minister of Everything be happy?

Because, according to the good Mr. Fletcher, this:

...(Rich) Coleman was minister in charge of the B.C. Lottery Corporation in 2009 when a dedicated illegal gambling enforcement team was disbanded. A new dedicated team was set up in 2016 as large casinos were operating in Metro Vancouver...

Except...

Didn't the former Minister of Everything tell Sean Holman in 2010 that he dismantled  the IGET team back in 2009 because he had something else better to go right then and there (i.e. seven years BEFORE he and Cookie Dough Mike pretended to actually do something)?

Why, yes, he did!

Who are these "Good People" that Rich Coleman keeps referring to? 4:15

Rich never kept papers on what led him to make decisions, not just on the Casino Money laundering, but everything that he touched in his many held portfolios since 2001!

Grand Master Coleman's crony of Triple deletes, George Gretes, was found guilty by Information and Privacy Commissioner Elizabeth Denham.

From page 16 of BCLC’s 2010/11 annual report:

“BCLC has developed comprehensive anti-money- laundering policies and practices and reports transactions to the Financial transaction and analysis Centre of Canada (FINtraC) as required by legislation, and to other authorities, including law enforcement, as appropriate. Last year, BCLC filed over 61,000 transaction reports
in accordance with federal law. BCLC’s application of new reporting criteria set out by FINtraC, combined with updated BCLC policies and ongoing staff training enhanced reporting compliance. about 99 per cent of frontline gambling facility staff have completed courses in anti-money laundering compliance.”

No problem, right?

Found out this morning that the good judge did NOT have the power to take evidence under oath while looking into the James /Lenz affair, which rendered it toothless... will this public inquiry have the power to compel oaths?

there wasn't much else big rich could say. is he truly happy? perhaps he thinks he still has the power to "swing" things his way. Not to put a damper on things, but how much do we know about the person who is running this inquiry and where do their loyalties lie?

Inquiries are only as good as their staff and the amount of power they have to compel testimony.

Wonder if big rich is going to retire in the next few months, due to ill health??? can't imagine him hanging around to take all the flack if every thing is to come out in the inquiry.

it still is a mystery to me how the B.C. Lieberals didn't know what was going on in the casinos nor how the RCMP in Richmond didn't know what was going on at the River Rock or were they told to lay off and go away? Did H.Q. know? if so did they do anything? We know what crooks do and why. its their job, but the other side of things, politicians and police, that is what I really want to know about.
