Is it just a coincidence that the USian schools with the biggest football programs have the largest numbers of COVID cases?

Something tells me that a whole lotta young kids just might not be able to go home for Thanksgiving without endangering their elderly loved ones.

OK?

go easy on that there 'elderly loved ones' eh.

When the Covid-19 shit hit the fan early on, my daughter said in a telephone conversation to a workmate "I have elderly parents ......"

To which I was taken aback! ELDERLY!!!! I'm mid 70's, yes! I walk a minimum of 9 kilometres a day, sometimes 18 to 21k. Elderly!!!

I thought about that concern of her's, the AGE labeled thing, ... took me about two days of walking to come up with a rebuttal to her.

'So, ever since you were born, the years between us has remained constant. I get a year older, you get a year older. So, if you now consider me to be elderly, then you must be having a mid-life crisis, eh?

and some are playing each other, with more teams to come, some with crowds, can’t let a pandemic in the worst hit country in the world get in the way of making money.

Could be these are the schools that don’t have a faculty of medicine within walking distance.

its not a coincidence nor is it a surprise. American universities make a fortune off of their sports teams. Does any one really think those in administration really care about the athletes or their relatives or others for that matter? Of course not. All they're interested in is the university making as much money as possible and their bonuses keep arriving on schedule. University athletes are more or less slaves. The employer makes the money, the athletes get not much at all. If they're injured they usually loose their scholarships.

Currently there are over 200K dead due to COVID in the U.S.A. With many politicians acting like its no big deal, does anyone expect institutions of "higher learning" to be any different. Lets not forget many of these athletes are people of colour and they've always been expendable as far as their white "owners" are concerned.
