The Cullen Commission's final report has been released to the public, all 1,831 pages of it.
Personally, I'm not entirely sure if the conclusion above is a kicker or a kick in the head.
Here are the final graphs of Kim Bolan's Vancouver Sun report:
...Despite inaction by several ministers, Cullen concluded that “there is no basis to conclude that any engaged in any form of corruption related to the gaming industry or the Commission’s mandate more generally.”
“While some could have done more, there is no evidence that any of the failures was motivated by corruption,” he said...

B.C. money laundering that totals '$billions' but there is no corruption.
Why yes, of course. Sure thing. They could have done better though.
Kick in the head? More like a kick in the nads.
Reminds one of the BC Rail affair.
"there is no evidence". Of course there wasn't/isn't. People who launder money usuaally ensure there isn't any evidence. That is why they call it money laundering.
Did the B.C. Lieberals know there was money laundering going on at casinos, paarticularly the one in Richmond? If they didn't they were as dumb as stone and less useful. When people walked into the casino with bags of money, you know something is going on, and no one reported it???? Where the hell was the richmond RCMP. If people who went to the casiono before it all became public and could "feel" something going on and didn't return, some one ought to have known.
There may be no evidence that the B.C. Lieberals personally benefited from the money laundering, but it sure would be nice to have a lookk at a few people's bank accounts here and abroad. Given they were a political party, which fund raised, its no stretch of the imagination that some were very happy with that government and attended.
Yes, it also reminds me of B.C. Rail enquiry and the one into the murder of 49 women by Picton. Then there was the trial over on vancouver island involving timber west and there were qquestions as to whether Rich Coleman would have to testify.
The new "leader" of the B.C. Lieberals and some of their M.L.A.s were there during all of it. The people of B.C. ought best to remember the history or they will be bound to repeat it.
To think Robert Summers went to jail for what he did and these people all walked away.
Yeah, but ......
'Former Premier Christy Clark appropriately delegated oversight of the gaming industry to a succession of experienced ministers. In 2015, however, the premier learned that casinos conducted and managed a Crown corporation and regulated by government were reporting transactions involving enourmous quantities of cash as suspicious.
Despite receiving this information, Ms. Clark failed to determining whether these funds were being accepted by the casinos (and in turn contributing to the revenue of the Province) and failed to ensure such funds were not accepted.'

The BC Rail fiasco was similar in that it benefitted the real estate industry with huge amounts of land being available along the tracks.
Money laundering was/is just another way of helping that same industry.
Then we had the land give away on Vancouver Island, again to the same group.
The BC Liberals are the party of realtors and developers.
