A lot of folks on the Twittmachine are asking why there will be no referendum for the three billion Massey Tunnel replacement bridge.
Which is a good question.
But one thing I've been wondering for awhile now is why the good Mr. Bateman didn't call for a referendum prior to the building of the similarly priced Ice Bomb bridge?
Gosh.
Is it possible the fact that he didn't had something to do with the fact that, back in the day Mr. Bateman, working with a very fine fellow named Bonney, had something to do with...

Bateman is a reactionary. He reacts to events he isn't an action type guy who thinks of the future. Its all about picking and choosing his fights which will benefit either him, people he represents or his organization.
There are so many things Bateman and his organization could work on, but you don't see it.
Bateman could most likely have a field day with the expenses of some of the political "elite". does he work on it? not so much. might step on toes which belong to his own circle.
Careful investigation the way Norm Farrell does regarding the waste of tax dollars? Not Bateman. Might up set his funders.
