Can Mr. O'Toole Win A Game Played In The Middle'?

It would appear that Erin O'Toole's attempt to re-brand himself has begun.

How else to explain that the theme of his tacking left toward the middle showed up in two publications as disparate as the Toronto Star and The Epoch Times recently:

And then there was Mr. O'Toole's self-initiated re-branding, errrrr... re-introduction on the Twittmachine on the weekend:

Which led former BC Green Party leader Stuart Parker to quip:

Then, with earworm wriggling, I just couldn't help myself:

So...

Love the sympathetic musical references, but O'Toole is a devil we know, as is Trudeau. Again we see the bird flying in circles with its two right wings. With our current political structure, and thoughts of really building back better are lost in the wash of sore backs from bowing down to the GDP Gods and the people behind the curtain.

O'Toole tacking to the middle. Reminds me of something Dave Barrett said at a dinner when I was young: Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
That was some time in the 1970s. when we were all young. Took those lines to heart.

Mr. O'Toole knows he can't win an election without going to the middle, but saying he is going to and doing it are two different things. Sort of like a philandering spouse who says I promise not to do it again. they just want to get away with it one more time and in the mean time want a little peace and quiet and hide their assets. Or as Mom said a leopard doesn't change its spots. O'toole is trying to change his spots because he thinks that is the only way to win the election, but if he ever did, he would bring a lot of "reform" type M.P.s with him. If he wants to stay head of the party and P.M. then, he is going to have to throw them some meat and that meat may be our lives.

There is some discussion over on the Alberta Political blog that his friend Mr. Kenney maybe centralizing their call centers for ambulances so he can privitize ambulance services. If O'Toole is able to fool the majority of voting citizens, I'll revert to my old line: You voted for him, now you can learn to live with it or die because of it.

Its so much fun for so many to dump on Trudeau, but really what would the others have done? Do they even have the experience to deal with what is going on. Do they have a Christiana Freeland on board. Do they have a wealth of back ground on how the world works. No they do not. Think of Trudeau what you may, but he does know how the world works because that is the world he grew up in. (ya I'm still left of him)
