Always found PP to be a bit of a robotic attack dog, and have at times wondered whether he really believes the nonsense he spouts. It's fertile ground he's working here, what with a succession of parties that call themselves socialist, but who act out the same neoliberal playbook of race to the bottom. They often sound like reasonable people until they get elected. Of course, anyone who really held socialist views might have a hard time getting elected. And anyone who cites MrsMThatcher as an inspiration has clearly lost the narrative for any survivable version of humanity.

Ya, that is the irony...They're ginning up a whirlwind about something the Laurentian party is definitely not.

Do you have this problem? Sometimes blogger just junks the links as I'm working on a post...Fixed now I think.

Do I have a problem with links being junked by blogger?
I suppose if I were to do a post, .... eg. on the District of North Vancouver's bylaw that forbids anyone from sitting on one of their benches that they've placed within the magical 6 metres of an open window ... then, I guess, I would have to provide a link.
As it is, I might as well take this opportunity, here. The benches(2) have been placed like a capital 'V' pointy pointed towards their district hall. The street level windows are not to be open because the building is, at great expense by the public, installed with air conditioning.
I'm considering packing a tape measure with me on my daily walks just to keep abreast of the bylaws. It looks like the first foot of the benches at the pointy (closets to the building) end is within 6 metres. So does that mean someone could sit at the other end, beyond the 6 metres, and be within the bylaw, and light up? Nothing says that there has to be 6 metres between individuals.
There are some brass memorial dedications on the backrest of the benches. Which end would the memoralized deceased prefer to sit, if they could? Just one last puff.
It turns out, after looking at the DNV bylaws in greater detail: "NO SMOKING is permitted on DNV properties" The benches are covered. Are the roads?
I suppose PeePees comment will crank up the reform/con hardcores. Hopefully, the rest of us will see it as one more excellently example of the party not to vote for. It’s too bad them there con party types can’t see how they drive away the mild mannered types. If they were a party that was like the real conservatives of yesteryear I do believe they’d stand a chance of governing occasionally.
Not surprised at all. Its from P.P, and as we get closer to an election, we can expect to see more of this.
