...It Sure Would Be A Shame If We Didn't 'Document' Them.
From the Bloomberg news organ thingy:
The draft rule, which is set to take effect April 11, expands requirements for registration and fingerprinting of foreign nationals who cross the US-Canada land border and stay in the US longer for more than a month. Affected people would have to create an account with US Citizenship and Immigration Services and schedule an appointment for fingerprinting as part of a background check....
Can't lie...
Am starting to re-think upcoming vacation plans with our very good, and distinctly left-leaning, US'ian friends south of the 49th this summer.
President Donald Trump’s administration is preparing a new travel rule that could force Canadians planning to stay in the country for more than 30 days to register their information with the US government and submit to fingerprinting.

No, I'm not leaving tomorrow for Maui...
Having a maple leaf tattoo'd on our pale bodies mandatory next?
The last time I ventured south of the 49th, I was greeted by a 'mericn border officer with "Welcome to the land of the free". I damn well near choked trying not make any retort.
The same trip south, having a dinner at a roadside eatery, next to the I-5, somewhere near Marysville, a local came in and berated "those damn cheese heads" and went on to say how hated dealing with Canadians.
The waitress, seeing that a potential tip was about to disappear, ushered the disgruntles guy into the "pull-tab room and profusely apologized.
That was 12 years ago and after several other insults (and the fact I should be no further than 5 hours from a Canadian hospital), I have not set foot on foreign soil.
Friends, recently coming back from holidaying in the past 6 months have reported that "things have changed" and its not the same place anymore", has also keep my feet firmly planted north of the 49th.
Oh yeah, we did leave a generous tip.
