This Day In Clarkland...They're Inside Premier's Office Now!

DidWoodward&BernsteinStopDiggingWhenTheyGotToHaldeman&Erlichman
HeckNo!Ville

The Province's Cassidy Olivier, who really has been banging a whole lot of gongs recently with his digging, has the story.

Here is his lede:

A key member of Premier Christy Clark’s office and a senior member of government caucus staff were directly involved in drafting a controversial strategy to woo ethnic votes ahead of the May election, fresh evidence suggests.

According to a copy of an email leaked to The Province, longtime Clark loyalist Kim Haakstad — who also serves as the premier’s deputy chief of staff — and Primrose Carson, the executive director of government caucus, offered advice and input during the drafting stages of the plan.

The email was sent from the private account of David Ritchie, then an executive assistant to Harry Bloy and now a ministerial assistant in the Premier’s Office, on Jan. 6, 2012....

Now go
read it all.

(and that includes Ms. Clark's ridiculous and pathetic 'say anything' denial that has, as expected, already been laid to waste by the...you know...facts)

Go.

______
And as we've been saying for the last few days, it may be difficult for the (not)Premier to cut Mr. Haakstad loose...After all, Ms. H.  knows stuff...Stuff that goes all the way back to the old pre-Railgate Spiderman/Toga Party days...And goes all the way, forward, through the 2009 election campaign, to the silver platterish 'six-pack days' (and yes, we're looking at you, Mr. Holier-Than-Thou, Campbell-Legacy-Protector Brown)...

RossK It's tough to keep up. And there's also a Globe story that strongly suggests Bell Lied to the Leg.
But you're quick on the draw and doing a fine job!

When it's all said and done can we claw back the Diamond Jubilee medal that Harry Bloy presented to his campaign manager, the BC Liberal operative, the man who was one of the recipients of the Ethnic Vote/Swing Ridings emails, the brains behind the independent review of the problems at Burnaby General Hospital, one Brian Bonney?

The fox is in charge of the hen house. I was wondering why don t we put the Hells Angels in charge of the province after all they are just a group of motorcycle riders. The lieberals are just as guilty of crimes as the Angels are. When the lieberals get the boot in May is there anyway that they can be brought to justice. I for one would donate cash to the prossecution to put these thieves in jail. Fiscal managers my ass, they couldn t organize a two man rush to a one holed outhouse. Christy save yourself some time and money and pack it in now. People of BC if someone stole and sold your property and assets would you not want them to go to jail. Maybe if this happened the next government in power would be honest and tell the truth. There is no way we can trust this pack of liers any more. This also goes for the group that was created by mr. Shepard . I would really like to see the list of donators to that fund so we could refuse to purchase anything from them. any way thanks for letting me rant.

Everything they touch turns into graft.

Ian--

Thanks..Ya...I finally got something up on that (actually it was in the queue for awhile...Here's another important 'bad/incompetent bit of crony capitalism' story that needs to be trumpeted before it costs another few hundred million (or more).
____

NVG--

But NVG...It was all just the fault of somebody 'low down the chain'...Why forever would they do the right thing just because of something like that?

_____
BCS--

I completely agree. The lack of transparency is anti-democratic.

______
Anon-Above--

That is one of greatest turns of phrase to explain, succinctly and precisely, what is really going on that I've ever read.

Thanks.
