Al Jazeera, the Qatar-based news network that has previously sought to become a liberal media force in the US, is launching a platform to target conservatives, it was revealed on Tuesday.
The new effort, called Rightly, will target Republicans who “feel left out of conservative media”, Politico reported, and will be led by a former Fox News journalist...
And no, that bit above does not come from the Onion.
Instead, it is the lede from a piece by Adam Gabbatt in today's Guardian.
Go figure.

They are a media organization and they like all media organizations like to make money. They may also see it as a way to further the B.S. being put out by Fox and other organizations. It might just work.
We shall have to see, what they print.
The Epoch Times started out as an underground publication run by pro. Falun Gong folks and was essentially a critic of the Chinese Govt. They became much larger and lucrative by clueing in to the extreme right wing nuttery, running with it then eventually spreading to the many extreme right wing nuttery parts of world, whether they believe the stuff they pump out is probably not the point. It’s the clicks and the dough from the hordes.
Al Jazeera is already massive and doesn’t need to build from a small base, so it will be easy to target “Republicans who feel left out of conservative media”. Its not a bad way to go if they publish more or less traditional conservative issues underserved and drowned out by the noise of the nutters.
Being run by a former fox news journalist doesn’t necessarily mean the new programming will reflect the hannity/piriro/dobbs et. al. lies and lunacy. Shepard Smith – now reading the news at CNBC was outed from fox by those aforementioned purveyors of lies and lunacy for actually calling balls and strikes as he and the rest of us saw them. Lets see what shows up.
Speaking of lies and lunacy; Rush as seen by a contributor to Al Jazeera.
