#BCED...Has Someone Spoken That Christy Clark Will Finally Listen To?

She won't listen to teachers.

She won't listen to students.

She won't listen to academics.

And she sure as heck won't listen to parents.

But will she listen to these fine folks?

The government of China has stepped into the B.C. teachers' strike and that is raising concern about a major source of lucrative international students for B.C. school boards.

Officials from the Chinese Consulate in Vancouver met recently with Education Ministry officials to express concerns about the teachers' strike, which has delayed the start of the school year by nearly two weeks, with no end in sight...

What's this one all about Alfie?

Well, kids from away pay big money to come to BC to go to our very fine public schools.

And, in addition to not getting to go to school during the strike, many of them are also forfeiting that big money that they laid out in advance.

Personally, I don't understand that last part (we have a sabbatical family visiting us who are in this bind)...I mean, are they trying to destroy the reputation of a program that is, unlike the private school subsidy debacle, actually really helping to support public education in this province?

The story quoted above is Tracy Sherlock, Chuck Chiang and Rob Shaw's in the VSun....It's good reportage.

Christy Clark has the public relations skills of a donkey. Here's how she insulted BC school children on CKNW: “It’s a major major source of international students for us potentially. The fastest growing middle class in the world, not enough educational facilities, they need to partner with British Columbia to try and help their dreams come true in that country.”

Who cares that BC school kids have dreams.... not Christy Clark.
Just how much more insulting can this woman be ? She has no right keeping kids out of school. Those who did not vote for this individual should be very proud.

And now there're saying they will legislate us back to work but not until October! That should reassure parents that they really care.I guess they'll wait until the Chinese consulate tells them it's the right time . Gawd I am so pissed!

I think this will lead to a reference to the LRB as early as next week which will attempt to force the majority of high school teachers back to work now as an essential service.
The rest of the teachers (who are teaching mostly Canadian kids) will be left to freeze in the dark (so to speak) until October.

From what we have seen, doesn't China own most of BC? Campbell and Harper handed a lot of BC to China, years ago. The mills, BC's raw logs and mines.

Fadden of CSIS warned of China's huge inroads into Canada. BC was specifically mentioned as, Campbell had already given much of BC to China.

Christy Clark has given China the jobs of, building the LNG plant near Prince Rupert as well.

There is Harper's FIPA deal with China. Harper's Omni-Bull-S-Bill that gives China the right to sue Canada if, anyone tries to block China's intrusions into our country. I signed the petition against, Harper's atrocious deals with China.

So now, the wealthy Chinese are suing Harper to get into Canada. 45,000 more Chinese want in.
