#Elxn42...Man In Blue Suit Gags Everyone, Everywhere.

BothSides
Don'tVille

From Elizabeth Thompson's latest in iPolitics:

Members of the public who attend Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s campaign events are being required to agree to a gag order before they can walk through the door, iPolitics has learned...

{snippety doodle dandy}

...On Tuesday, veteran Queens Park reporter Susanna Kelley was refused entry to a Harper campaign event. While she arrived 20 minutes before the start of the event, she was told she could not enter because RCMP sniffer dogs were not available to check her out...

Gosh.

Aren't all Canadian citizens....errrr....'taxpayers'  helping to pay for this (extra) long election and all its campaigning?

_______
Just two sides?....In my opinion, absolutely...In other words, don't kid yourself because 36% for the MITBS could win the thing if the three groups on the other side stays splintered...OK?

Rossk the link to Elizabeth Thompson's post works!!!! but could someone explain why Harper looks so haggard and its only been six days into the campaign... http://ipolitics.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/07840449.jpg

Elizabeth was told by a Conservative (no name) campaign worker that the RCMP handlers, and Sniffer police dogs, were not in attendance.... because she was not on time ... so does that mean .... that the T-E-R-R-O-R-I-S-T-s in our midst only need to wait ONE minutes past the stated time and then there's no police presence or snifferers

NVG--

Interesting question...

Personally, I think this all has to do with message control of what comes out of these 'events', both from the pros and the amateurs.

Note, again, the 'no questions' instructions to the proMedia organ that was 'invited' to one of these events.

I suppose the media, if it were led by folks with a bit of moxy, could respond with a gag of the own. If the Cons aren't gonna give you anything newsy, stop covering the Cons, and report on the other parties instead. Unlikely...

Do we have a freedom from information act?

RossK said...

Boris--

If that were happen, and Mr. Harper et al. were to win regardless, would a clause against engaging in such 'unpatriotic' behaviours be inserted into the next round of omnibus security legislation which, as we have been told today, will include a prosecutorial apparatus to ensare Canadians who have the audacity to travel to so-called bad places without official permission?

_________

Anon-Above--

Ha!

(of course, if we did have such an act how would we know, given the lack of information, that we actually do?)
