HST Voter Turnout Announcement....

.....What Codswallop This Way Comes?

So.

Out of nowhere it is announced that we will be told voter turnout numbers today.

Which is bizarre in and of itself.

But the following bit of codswallop, from Justine Hunter, who usually does not write such nonsense, appeared in today's Globe:

...Last week, the province’s chief electoral officer fuelled speculation that the turnout will be on the high side. The last mail-in referendum in B.C. brought out a mere 35 per cent of the vote, but Craig James said he’s looking for turnout as least as high as the last general election – 55 per cent of registered voters – to validate the process.

As Mr. James is one of the few people who has been inside the secret warehouse stacked with boxes of returned ballots, the betting was that he was sounding bullish because he already knows a respectable share of the province’s three million registered voters have taken the opportunity to be finance minister for a day....

Seriously Ms. Hunter?

Is that what you and the other pro-pundits placing their wagers would have us believe?

That this all comes down to whether or not Craig James has been wandering around the top-secret, scrutineer-free bunker and thus has a number in mind?

And you are buying this garbage?

What's next....Breathless reports when Mr. James suddenly decides to tell us, in advance of the 'real' result, what coloured pens were used to mark 'Yes' vs. 'No' which he has discovered because, allegedly, he was the only one in the bunker with an old fashioned incandescent 60 watt bulb that he used to peer through all that the envelope armour prior to opening.

Followed, of course, by daily paper-cut count reports.

Sheesh.

Of course some more cynical scribes and/or fever-swamped bloggers might be asking themselves if this is actually a ploy of expectation changing by the good folks from E-BC, not in terms of the actual result, but rather in terms of the 'legitimacy' of their process....

I wasn't in favor of the referendum. However, I did vote yes.

I just could not see Campbell agreeing to the referendum, unless it could be cheated.

Beyond the shadow of a doubt, the BC people are dead set against the HST. We don't trust Craig James of Elections BC because, it is blatantly obvious he is pro Liberal. James hiding the ballots, is bad, bad news.

There is nothing right about this province. Campbell lied, deceived, thieved, and twice cheated, to win two different elections.

Nothing has changed. Christy and Falcon, are just as bad as, Campbell and Hansen.

The referendum ballot vote, is far too easy to cheat. This is the most asinine method of voting, I have ever seen.
