Is Dalton McGuinty Now, Or Has He Ever Been...

...A Farmer?

"...Ministries have a responsibility to abide by the law with respect to documentation and information. I can tell you again that in my office, for example, I did not have an office computer; I did not use a government email..."

Why?

Because...

Cookie Dough...

Mike!

________
But who really cares anyway....After all, even if you are in government and you are triple deleting Emails and documents 'n stuff, it is for the most part, thanks to the recent actions of the Clarklandians, no longer illegal....'Tis, apparently, a bit of a different story in Ontario though...And, in my opinion, that is what the Dean should be really angry about, not just the fact that the Clarklandians, party division, are apparently being seen to be unseemly, or some such thing, in their recent re-hiring of their former and now current executive director who just happened to have once worked for the good Mr. McGuinty.

Why does the re-hiring of Laura Miller by the BC Liberal Party sound so much like their handling of Ken Boessenkool?

Best Friend for the BC Liberal government is: Silence; Shame; and Failure of Authorities

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Christy Clark:
A rapist's best friend is silence; A rapist's best friend is shame; A rapist's best friend is the failure of authorities to recognize a complaint. We will not reduce the prevalence of sexual assault until we strengthen the institutions of government that are there to protect women, until we ensure that women feel safe coming forward.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Globe and Mail

Mr. Boessenkool was dismissed for purportedly making an unwanted advance at a Victoria bar toward a young female political staffer in the B.C. government. In his letter of resignation, which did not describe what happened, Mr. Boessenkool admitted to acting “inappropriately” and said he regretted his behaviour. He apologized to his wife and four young daughters.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Christy Clark practice of triple deleting, not taking notes, AND more importantly, her former MALE Chief of Staff, an OIC employee, HIS rights to privacy is Protected by his Employer.
No mention about an apology to the female political staffer;
The failure to document communications in governance, speaks to the questionable matter of "trust" in public office.
Breach of trust, Breach of fiduciary responsibility, etc., are serious matters within any form of governance.
The "rehiring" of an individual by a political party, whose own actions in a similar ethical "trust" issue, speaks volumes about parties own behavior and arrogance toward the law.
If organized crime is indeed involved in BC governance, then what else besides emails, have been deleted? Are we the public to assume that this issue, has been dealt with? This is not a "private" corporation. Records have to be kept by law. If this particular party flaunts basic laws of accountability and responsibility towards the electorate, what "dark" secrets are they really hiding? The issue of "dark money" has been raised, perhaps other issues of malfeasance lurk in the deeper shadows. What other forms of hiding "damning information" are being used. Accounting perhaps?
The question of organized crime in this parties governance, is becoming clearer by the day. The inability of a serving police agency to investigate this government, due to questionable conflicts of interest, through contractual obligation, is even more startling. Given the legal problems over the past 15 years, this party is due for a major corruption enquiry, along with the "questionable" form of governance it has been involved in.
Contempt of moral authority?
NVG--
The thing is...
Given both the McGuinty and the Clark/Campbell regimes' development of, and reliance upon, an 'oral government', we don't actually know what really happened in either the gas plant switcheroo or the events that led to Mr. Boessenkool's dismissal.
And it is this disappearing of any and all records of what actually went down, which has been happening here in BC since the days of the BC Rail deal, that fine folks like Mr. Palmer of the VSun should really be concerned about.
_____
Anon-2-Above--
The really difficult thing is going to be unwinding all the cronification deals that have been done.
_____
Anon-Above--
It would appear to be a contempt for any authority, from traffic cops who try to keep people from running red lights on up.
Coincidentally, Laura Miller fund raising for Clayton Ruby's defense fund of One Hundred Thousand Dollars is BC Liberal Party President and former Chief of Staff Ken Boessenkool AND Mark Robertson (Ethnic Scandal???)
Yuppers.
But....Anyone is entitled to run a kickstarter/fundrazr for anything that is not illegal, etc.
And...Anyone who wishes to is entitled to contribute to such an endeavour.
Interestingly though... Of the ~$73,000 that has been raised for Ms. M's legal defense fund so far ~$60,000 looks to have been contributed anonymously.
Imagine that!
Mr. Kinsella has posted up on why he feels it is important to support the good Ms. Miller's legal defense fund.
He, Mr. Kinsella, also very much disagrees with Mr. Palmer of the VSun regarding the BCL's re-hiring of Ms. Miller.
read Mr. Kinsella's post on the subject and at least he is honest about he and his wife being a friend of laura Miller's. of course being blind to one's friend's short comings is something many of us are guilty of. I'd suggest Mr. Kinsella falls in that category.
In my opinion, it would not be a stretch to think, they passed the hat at b.c. Lieberal events or "some such thing" and got the money.
I guess Christy really is getting in touch with her roots. She's been wearing First Nation's shawls lately and we know First Nations prior to the arrival of the Europeans, had an oral history. Lets hope the next time the First Nations has to take the B.C. government to court, their presenations of oral history are given the weight they deserve. Our good queen of photo ops, seems to be emulating them. We might ask the courts to toss out rulings on hear say evidence. That is about all they must be working with in the B.C. Lieberal headquarters/B.C. government.
Good point about the re-emergence of 'oral' history.
However, there was a huge difference in intent between FN's (preservation of actual history) and the BCL (destruction, or at the very least, suppression of any and all historical record.
