If 'Corner Gas' Were Filmed Today...

...Who Would Mr. Butt's Co-Stars Be?

And would they send a limousine anyway?

Meanwhile...

Ms. Mallick of the Star:

...Canadians, desperate for work for themselves and their children, have proof that the Conservative government has no interest in well-paid jobs for Canadians, only in imported low-wage temps too terrified to be disobedient because a boss’s merest word can send them and their distant families back into penury.

Look at the sad and sorry evidence. We see kindly Saskatchewan waitresses weep on camera as they describe losing their jobs to trucked-in foreign workers...

______
And who can forget a then Globe-employed Ms. Mallick's finest hour in the belly of the very ugly of most ugliest of beasts...

I have decided to boycott all Tim Hortons, McDonalds and Dairy Queens. While they employ temp foreign workers. I will also boycott every bussness that uses them. All I have heard over the years is the old saying shop locally, well here is my new saying hire locally. If you can t get people to work for you for minimum wage, then pay them a livable wage. If everyone were to boycott all these bussness they would soon change there ways.

I am also boycotting businesses that proudly advertise "Member of the Chamber of Commerce".....this because of an article North Van Grumps brought to my attention.

Anon-Above and mcg--

Sadly, it would appear that the only way to appeal to these fine folks and entities these days is not through any sense of moral decency (and/or just plain fairness) but instead through their pocketbook.
