This Day In Snookland...There Is No Plan Like No Plan (To Announce).

Apparently, in response to 'rumours' that the BC Liberal government is planning a privatization offensive in the education department, rumours, of course, that Gary Mason really hates, Peter Fassbender had something to say yesterday.

The GStraight's Charlie Smith got Mr. Fassbender's money quote:

...(Fassbender) stated it's "absolutely, categorically not true" that there is any plan for him to announce privatizing education through vouchers...

Hmmmm...

Is saying that you don't have 'any plan' to announce a thing the same thing as 'absolutely, categorically' that you aren't planning to do that thing?

He is saying there is no plan for him to make the announcement. It will come from somebody else...maybe a Deputy Minister.

Watch out DJF...

If you're not careful you will be accused, by old sportswriters and talk show hosts, who never, ever traffic in such things, of starting rumours.

Ha!

well if its coming from the B.C. lieberal party you know its coming when they say it isn't. i.e. el gordo wasn't going to tear up contracts, hello HEU
el gordo wasn't going to "sell" B.C. Rail, hello what rail way has it now?
the HST wasn't on el gordo's "radar", yes, and how long before it was enacted.

Fassbender is using up his quota of the usual B.C. lieberal "weasel" words. Its coming......
My vote says Nov.

This fear was reinforced on September 5 when former B.C. Teachers' Federation president Susan Lambert tweeted about a rumour of a pending government announcement by the premier on September 23.

[Fassbender]stated it's "absolutely, categorically not true" that there is any plan for him to announce...

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks" a famous quote from Shakespeare that applies in this case. New Jersey just did it and I believe Crusty and minions are following the lead.
