#BCED....Is No (Real) News Good News?

VinceKeeps'EmComin'
BackVille

The fact that so little real news leaked out of Teacher/Gov't talks over the weekend (i.e. the fact that Denike and Woo showed up, out of the blue, for no good reason at all was not real news) suggests that something is happening.

And the fact that Vince Ready says they are going to get together again today is further evidence of that, I reckon.

Anyway...

As things drag on and the financial squeeze starts to tighten on individual teachers, one can only wonder if it's starting to look the ol' Bailey Brothers Building and Loan around the Emergency Fund offices of the BCTF these days.

And, more specifically, I'm talking about that part where there is a run on the bank.

It's the scene that ends when George manages to calm everyone down with his Honeymoon money and then, finally, asks Miss Davis how much she needs. After initially hesitating, she manages to say...'Could I have $17.50?"

And, just in case you didn't know it, according to a bizarre profile in The Province awhile back, 'It's A Wonderful Wife' is one of Christy Clark's favourite movies.

In more reports of the not 'real' news...

We had an interesting (crowd source-backed) time around here yesterday figuring out where the website of a very amateurish group that attempted to disrupt the public education rally in downtown Lotusland yesterday came from.

This spilled over to the Twittmachine, where things went kinda/sorta like....This.

But, just to be clear, the real action was right here where we had the room and space to stretch things out and make things clear (you can start with this post and work backward through the links if you're interested).

And just to be even clearer, after I did a little initial digging in the Tubez, I got all the help I needed from readers...It was just like the old days of early RailGate.

Hey!

Does this mean that if you care about public education in this province that you are now part of a 'Cult'?

Anon--

It' a good piece by B Mackin.

It's getting to the point where it is almost impossible to get outraged anymore.

The kicker in that piece though is the ad person's explanation of why she decided that Ms. Clark should be Premier...

BC Mary asked her readers to get out and give feedback from the trials of Basi/Virk/Basi within BC Rail (before it all went south with the payment of $6 million) so that WE, would be better informed and not dependent upon the hearsay 'evidence' of the 'professional' journalists.

October is Brian Bonney and Mark Robertson time to shine in trail runs, the discovery process, in GCPE aka PAB kaleidoscope colouring books

Disappointed that the RCD still hasn't replied to my email with regards to the actions of Tom Tang and whether they support it or not.

I called RCD this morning. They said no comment and hung up. This is bad publicity for them. I would have thought they would at least say they are aware of it and are looking into it.

China has spoken so, Christy will have to obey the Chinese. They will be running Canada and BC as of, Oct 1st.

Actually, ditzy Christy has never run this province.

The smitten Ms. Pickett boasts on her website that the BC Jobs Plan "is the most successful example of open government and public engagement in BC government history."

Yeah, a job for Ms. Pickett. I wonder what examples she thinks she beat out for top spot?

When I saw the Richmond "parents" arrive at the teacher/parent rally, it was entertaining, as they started to talk and explain their positions. The first thing which went through my mind, which Richmond Liberal M.L.A. got that organized?

The lack of English fluency of the "parents" might also explain why so many kids in our schools are having trouble speaking English and the system has to spend so much of its funding on ESL.

Who ever organized the "counter rally": you didn't fool anyone.

To those of the "counter rally": I don't know what type of education you received prior to coming to Canada, but I know the education I received here in Canada and I'd like your kids and all the others to receive the same high quality education that was around prior to the lieberal slashing which started in 2002.

Now off to read your post again.

What kind if SICKO sends agent provocateurs to a peaceful rally full of kids?

a lieberal provocateur. they have no shame. they have no manners. they have no sense of civil responsibility, there is only winning and staying in power. Always remember the first order of government is to stay in power. everything else comes second.

O.K. there is the odd one who did the "right" thing, knowing they would loose an election but those are few and far between. The last time I actually heard about it, was some Australian politicians who voted in favour of gun control, knowing they would be defeated in the next election. They were and when interviewed some years later, said that they felt they had to demonstrate leadership and do what was right for their country. They had no regrets.

@8:42 RE: AGT

12 hours after his column dropped there is a deal?

Maybe we should have called AGT, and not Vince Ready!

I jest... mostly.
